Got the Sox closer to a championship via next year's draft.

Welcome to the correct mind set about bad/mediocre baseball teams.

It took you MANY years, but I think this will be beneficial to your overall fandom.

I thought the sarcasm was clear. I'm sorry you got mindfucked into thinking your favorite team losing is a good thing, but that's not how sports go.

Only one problem, the Sox suck at drafting.

No, seriously, don't back out now. It takes a real true fan to admit he can see a bigger picture. I admire your revelation. Hopefully, the remaining subdivision can also see the light, and believe in a new plan for the south siders.

Would the Spurs have had a chance at landing Duncan if the Admiral wasn't hurt the season before? Did losing not help the Spurs to draft one of the best players of all time?

The spurs currently have the second best player in the NBA. Did they need to purposely lose games to get him?

Losing on purpose in a competitive sports league is an embarrassment to the team and the league itself. It's why the NBA and MLB need some kind of EPL style system to demote these organizations into a second tier.

We both know that won't happen. The lower market cities are barely hanging on as it is. I agree it would add more competitiveness, but it won't happen.

Please answer the question my friend. Did losing help the Spurs to draft Duncan?

Lower market teams like SA and Cleveland are barely hanging on? That's an odd stance.

You're conflating losing with losing on purpose. I don't think there's any strong evidence showing the Spurs tanked to get Duncan. Boston did tank to get Duncan that year though. How did it work out for them?

I answered your question. Not my problem if you had a problem with a more elaborate answer.

Btw, a 20-62 record would strongly indicate your team wasn't trying too hard after February. Especially with zombie Dominique Wilkins leading the team in scoring.

The team relied on Robinson for a lot.

Let me ask you a question now. Of all the best teams in the NBA currently, who got there by tanking games on purpose?

Cavs.

I don't think it's about being best. It's about being a profitable, entertaining franchise. Like OKC.
