I thought the sarcasm was clear. I'm sorry you got mindfucked into thinking your favorite team losing is a good thing, but that's not how sports go.

Losing on purpose in a competitive sports league is an embarrassment to the team and the league itself. It's why the NBA and MLB need some kind of EPL style system to demote these organizations into a second tier.

Lower market teams like SA and Cleveland are barely hanging on? That's an odd stance. You're conflating losing with losing on purpose. I don't think there's any strong evidence showing the Spurs tanked to get Duncan. Boston did tank to get Duncan that year though. How did it work out for them?

It's about being a profitable, entertaining franchise. Like OKC.
