Congratulations on clinching the Quintana bet! He is who we knew he was. W/L record- the great predictor.

It might not be, but it all depends on what is causing his inaccuracy and home run rate. Does he appear to be living more in the zone just because he's lost some velocity or movement on his fastball and is past the threshold where MLB hitters can jump on his pitch? That would be alarming.

But, if he is just in the zone more and not locating is curveball properly because of some mechanical or mental issue, that should be ironed out easily enough. The real worry is that Bosio hasn't demonstrated an ability to get Arrieta back to his 2014 form, which doesn't bode well for fixing Quintana.

The funny thing is I was always on the Anti-Kyrie side when me and ltg would go back and forth between who was better between him and Steph. I didn't become Pro-Kyrie until vegan started acting like he was a borderline rotational player/scrub. I don't consider myself a Kyrie fan at all really. I just don't understand what motivates someone to pretend like he isn't good just because they like LeBron more.

Let me tell you why he's a bitch. Yes, he hit that shot. Tell me, though: why was Kyrie Irving in the finals to begin with? Why did he go to the finals three straight years? Who or what elevated him from a YouTube star to a guy hitting big shots on the biggest stage in basketball?

Kyrie Irving and his fanboys think the answer to all the above questions is "Kyrie Irving." That's why he's a little bitch. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

The answer is obviously Kyrie Irving. There is no other acceptable answer. If you think the answer is LeBron James it's simply an indication you can no longer think about this unsentimentally.

Elevate him from a YouTube star? He was a two time all star before he ever played a second with LeBron James.

I don't think we're on the same page here. Let's try an analogy: why is Pippen a six time champion? The answer is not "because Scottie Pippen." It's "because Michael Jordan." This doesn't mean Pippen had nothing to do with the rings, of course, but clearly the team's success was indisputably due to Jordan. Same with LBJ.

If you think Michael Jordan is more responsible than Scottie Pippen is for Pippen having six rings you clearly didn't think too critically about your position.

I don't get this. This is an accepted viewpoint with Shaq, MJ, and now LBJ. These guys make champions. Horry, Steve Kerr, Pippen, Horace Grant, Brian Shaw, etc., are all champions due to Shaq, MJ, and LBJ. That's all I'm really saying. Do you think Pippen would be a champion without MJ?

I do think Pippen would be a champ without MJ but that's irrelevant.

Pippen is 95% responsible for being a NBA champ. Jordan is probably 5% responsible. And you're completely wrong about what is an accepted viewpoint.

Post subject:  Re: FavreFan!

I'll put it another way.

If you think Pippen wouldn't be a champ without Jordan, that's a fine opinion and "accepted" viewpoint.

If you think Jordan is primarily responsible for Pippen being a champ, you are severely underestimating the work it takes to become a NBA player, let alone champion.

No one is arguing who the better player happens to be. The better player invariably gets most of the credit. If you don't think that Irving carried his own weight then you might possibly be insane.

Well Pippen had his chance to prove you right and never got past the second round. Then Jordan came back and they won three straight, but you seem to think this is a coincidence. LBJ is the single common denominator over the past seven years regarding teams in the east that have made the finals, and yet you want to suggest people like Bosh, Irving, Love, etc., are individually responsible for that success when they've failed to reach the same heights as James has when they were on their own. I don't get what's so controversial about this argument - it's about recognizing your place. Pippen isn't winning shit without MJ and I think he accepted that. Parker and Ginobli probably accepted that when they played with TD. Everyone knows that if you subtract Duncan from the Spurs, MJ from the Bulls, and LBJ from the Cavs, then none of those teams are even making the finals, let alone winning it. Kyrie isn't in that class. Too bad he can't accept that.

So you are blaming a guy for wanting to see how good he can be? You also are blaming him for daring to disentangle himself from LeBron James. We are about to see how good he can be now. It's no doubt that he puts Boston right there with Cleveland. No doubt.
