Tonight I sit silently to protest the thousands of American soldiers who have died over the past decade in these wars. We have been there for 16 years. It is time for them to end. It is time for Congress to vote on whether or not they should end. The Senate is now in a quorum call, unable to act because of my protest. This is why I sit on the floor, in silent protest. I will continue this protest and these objections for as long as needed to ensure Congress do its duty, and vote on ending these wars.

nah, he took some real stands against the Patriot Act renewal, which led to some changes in it. he has also pushed against the DoJ and DoD on the drone program and the legality of it. He has taken some real principled stands. Far more than the other 534 cocksuckers on the hill.

Don't forget he also takes the principled stance that segregation should be legal!

He never supported legalized segregation. He simply believes that market forces alone can force companies to fight racism rather than government intervention. I'd say there is truth to that, just look no further at web hosting companies pulling domains for Nazi sites or Amazon removing Confederate Flag listings.

It should be noted that the segregation in the south was mandated by legal code (Jim Crow laws) in those states, thus it was government, not the private sector forcing segregation.
