That other guy had a lot of strike outs when he lost. |

Congrats on all your Strike outs Nationals. 2 hit ball by Kyle and the 1-0 lead in the series. |

"Winning Pitcher" Kyle Hendricks, the anti-Quintana. I'm waiting for Keith Law to explain to me how Strasburg was "more effective". |

He is so fun to watch when he's on. It's a clinic. You could see the frustration on the Nationals' faces. Weak contact after weak contact. Beautiful. Kaplan was right last night, too - his changeup is so effective, it looks like a split-finger. Go back and watch the last pitch to Murphy on his last at-bat... it just dropped off the table. |

Like Jimmy Piersall used to say... "He pitched a whale of a ballgame." He looked terrific. His ball was breaking in the seventh just as good or better than in the third. Nice job. |

I’m just glad Joe let him go to the 7th. I was sure he was going to pull him. |

He's like a right-handed Mark Buehrle. He's not flashy he doesn't throw fast he just goes out there and gets guys out. I was playing a few songs at a bar last night so I didn't see much of the game, but what I did see it was him just throwing nasty pitches. He definitely had his good stuff |

I remember Steve Stone always saying that pitchers who throw sinking pitches tend to improve as the game goes on because their arm needs to tire just a bit in order to get the true sinking action. I know Hendricks gets a lot of comparisons to Maddux (in terms of style), and I think it's a perfect comparison. Not only does Hendricks pitch similarly, but he does EVERYTHING well, which I always admired about Maddux. He's a very good fielder, has a great pickoff, and can lay down a bunt or get a hit if needed. Just a damn impressive baseball player. |

Tire arms are good for off speed and breaking pitches. So I think you're right. |

I was afraid that strop coming in at that time could be more drama them it's worth. But hey this dude out pitched Kershaw in the NLCS last year so strasburg and the fighting Walgreenses should be no problem, eh? |

Unless my calculations are off, his last three playoff wins were against Kershaw, Kluber, and Strasburg. Damn. |

His heart rate never appears to change. When you can make Murphy and Harper look silly you know you got it rolling |

Last nights game had a K.Wood game feel to it. I have seen many K.Wood starts that looked just as dominate as Strasburg, that ended up with a L after one bad inning. Seeing Dusty on the other side, I knew if Hendricks could keep us close, that Strasburg would have that one "bad" inning and Dusty would fuck up the rest. It was nice to be on the other side of a game like that and watch some other fans go through what Cub fans had to endure for many years. With Dusty they looked Rusty! |

If they advance and everyone is rested and healthy you absolutely have to go with Kyle to start the series the rest of the way. |

It is amazing watching this guy work. Let's hope Tseng learns from him because Tseng actually has a better FB. |
