Doing his part to help the Bears get a higher draft pick.
REVENGE!

I was perfectly fine with his release at the end of the game in the Bears' direction.

I agree. It was a giant "FUCK YOU" to the franchise.

I feel the exact same way.

He learned how to be accountable from Joe Pa.

At this point, I'll say thanks for the higher draft pick.

Hasn't missed a kick since being cut and I'm not sure our kickers have made 5 in a row.

His release was warranted...not in order to get Barth, but he kicked his way out of town.

Through all this it should be reminded that two rookie kickers were sitting there for Pace completely available. Jake Elliott is even from Chicago. Pace decided to go with Barth, coming off a down season and with a history of not being able to hit from outside 40. That kind of guy usually will kick well in Chicago.

I truly don’t know the answer but has anyone the Bears have had since Gould left been as good as Gould’s worst year here ?

I had no problem cutting Gould loose, he was a talker..nobody wants a special teams player running their mouth. He cost the team 2 games his final year here. Anybody could have made those chip shots yesterday, Barth sucked..can't replace Gould with a lousy kicker..get a competent replacement.

There has only been Barth and Santos

Gould had a down year because of injuries. The Bears will spend the next decade trying to replace him. Finding a guy like that is hard.

It's a kicker.

They'll luck into one again when they are good.

Jake Elliott was a FA on opening day.

He could have been a Bear for a decade. It wasn't like he was a hidden entity as he was a top kicker at Memphis.

The fact that a goddam kicker is even a topic of conversation highlights just how historically awful that this Bears run over the last 2-4 years has been.
