Voted number one best state based on a number of factors including economy, healthcare, education, etc. Minnesota and North Dakota were 2 and 4. I guess those shitty flyover states elitists hate are doing something right....except Illinois. Illinois is sitting at 35. Woohoo! #50 in fiscal stability. #47 in quality of life. #39 in economy. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-states/rankings |

clickbait, all rankings done by national vendors are useless.... here's an example: ten years ago, Forbes had South Holland #1 and Park Forest #2 and Homewood #3 for "Most Livable Metro-Area Suburbs" for chicago area. Quote: Located in the southern end of Cook County, South Holland is a small, affluent village in Thornton Township. Check out this sound reasoning on the Homewood ranking Quote: A small village in southern Cook County, Homewood, with a population of 20,000, probably has one of the highest country-club-to-citizen ratios in the country, as it and nearby Chicago Heights are packed with golf courses. https://www.forbes.com/2007/10/11/prope ... 45d46340ea tl;dr: clickbait articles are bull shit |

The are some sweet parts of South Holland south of 170th. Nice community center, Mark Mulder sponsors the hot tub, so that's cool. Goff'd myself, runs N-S |

Homewood great place to grow up. 2 golf courses yea but both were private until 5-10 years ago, that's why we always ended up at Glenwoodie. |

Any state ranking list that has North Dakota anywhere in the top 50 should be embarrassed. |

There's nothing up here except oil $$$. Women are outnumbered 10 to 1 at least. The winters are the worst in the US, including Alaska. Come try it out tho. We can drink some of this frac contaminated well water together. Only West Virginia is worse. Maybe Alabama too, but those states are all bunched up down there in my rankings. |

Jbi11s, didn't know you were up there. It can't be all bad--that's where Roger Maris grew up and is buried. |

Goff'd myself, runs N-S can you elaborate on the "sweet spots south of 170th"? there are some massive homes east of 94 near 170th but only an insane person would buy there and pay the taxes. even with a nice home you still have terrible local schools |

Yeah, between Cottage Grove (and mostly 94) and Torrence and between 170th and 294. There's plenty of solid houses in foreclosure dirt cheap. Taxes suck, but that's Cook county for you. Not going to get better though, with a lot of businesses along 159th and other places closing though. |

They are all big and fat and eat a lot of cheese. I'd say they are quite happy with their lives. |

A lot of great states to live in. Plenty of natural beauty and fun etc. You just need to arrive with your money already in your stash or a way to make enough remotely. |
