It's been clutch, what with the countless threads of political bullshit and mutual masturbation over Trump and Hillary.

Because I have said their names and no admins/mods seem to give a full fledged shit over the banal discourse that has polluted this community, I'm sure this thread too will plummet into a bunch of retarded, redundant bickering.

This entire site needs a new subforum for politics at this point.

Did you really want to start a discussion about the utility of the "Mark Forums Read" feature, or not-so-cleverly bitch about threads you aren't forced to click on? Which contributes more to the overall banality of the board: Talking Trump and Hillary or starting meaningless threads to signal one's own virtue and antagonize others?

Poster who proudly left the board because people were too negative about the Bears and then came back still thinking we were too negative about the Bears even though they've gone 14-34 the last 3 years finds political talk too negative! Shocking development.

Now that two prominent board assholes have checked in, I can wait for responses from people on the board whose opinions I actually give a shit about.

Yeah it's a helpful tool to clean up old threads I may not have read.

It's my eighth-favorite feature on the board.

For loudmouth members of a board that has a not-so-cool habit of featuring racist shit and insults the shit out of other members daily, in addition to having a 600+ page thread exclusively for insulting a singular and admittedly unoriginal feminist, you sure don't know how to take a casual insult from a casual member with any sort of grace.

Unlike Facebook, CFMB is not a content provider. We are merely a platform that allows others to post content.

To be fair, BR and DB are not the ones typically accused of racist behaviors.

No they are not, but they seem to tolerate it well enough, as do many, it appears.

We also tolerate people using words that demean people with special needs!

Oh, please.

If you are going to get on me for tolerating racism here then don't use offensive words in the same thread.

Initiating more banal discourse will surely end other instances of what I deem to be banal discourse!

BR and DB will call out people for stuff like that. And yes, they are snarky and will insult people. BR is probably just making a joke most of the time usually based on a board meme. And DB, I am not sure what motivates his attacks, and I just prefer to leave a sleeping bear alone.

I agree that there are a handful who are so obnoxious it's hard to ignore them, but I'm not sure what the board admins are expected to do. We also wouldn't want them to start banning people just for being annoying, or we'd all be gone at some point.

There are a lot of things you could be accused of, but tolerating racism would never be on that list. Frankly, you are pretty grounded when it comes to social issues.

The whole point was to get away from the Bigfan model of randumb banning and editing posts.

Wisemen do a great job in being judicious in making the decision to edit a post.

I freely admit that maybe I'm just not acclimated to the bit. I don't think BR and disagree on a lot, but where we do disagree is apparently some kind of lake of fire. I honestly want to be on the goods with BR, but we appear permanently conflicted. I hope peace talks will reign someday.

And DB is just a shitheel. Guy can go fuck himself; I don't give a shit what he says anywhere about anything or anyone. He sucks.

I'd sooner read this banal discourse than see more pages of The Forum vs. Baby McCown, The Forum vs. A Woman, or CB/312 making slanty-eyes in the mirror and hoping somebody else is laughing with them.

It marks all the forums as if you had gone in and read the latest post in that thread. Like from the blue/orange combo of the "Farmer" thread (when you haven't read the most recent post) to the faded blue of this thread:

Image

You can do it for all threads in all sections at the forum landing page, by specific section (click on "Shows and Media" for instance, then click "Mark Forums Read" as usual) or even specific sub-forum (Go to "Shoutouts" and then click MFR).

Neat little function to stay abreast of new topics and ongoing discussions.

Also, it is not a function you need if you go to the Waddle and Silvy section.
