DOWNTOWN — Chance the Rapper sharply criticizes Mayor Rahm Emanuel and announces he’s bought the defunct Chicagoist website in a new song.

The song, called “I Might Need Security,” was released late Wednesday along with three other tracks. In it, Chance said he’s expecting Emanuel’s resignation and an investigation into the desk duty Chicago Police officers are put on after shooting people.

what is there to investigate about the desk duty? The officers are removed from the street until conclusion of an investigation that results in either support or censure. That seems like an entirely logical and appropriate method.

I took it as someone who is put on permanent desk duty instead of being fired after the investigation.

I think he's saying Cops arent prosecuted properly.

I thought maybe he liked Being There and played on Chance the Gardener.

ha, the guy had enough stick to pop up and tell mayor daley it's time to go.... so now that a rapper calls him out he's suddenly gonna tuck and run? i guess it's just a marketing/branding exercise for chance that he can carry on like he's big/bad enough to want something like that and he can expect it to happen.... but i'd be beyond shocked if rahm resigns and admits "dude, once chance calls you out it's over. that's just how it works in the city that works"
