It's an ouroboros wokeness. Regular libcucks want to eliminate straws because they create a ton a waste and hurt animals. The truly WOKE wants straws to stay because getting rid of them is ableist. |

I recently saw an interview with an environmentalist who said that the environmental impact of paper straws is far greater- not to mention more expensive- than plastic straws. Then there's the unquestioned repetition of the "fact" that Americans use 500 million straws each day, which, if you actually stop to think about it, is utterly absurd. |

Leash used to use dozens of straws a day. |

There are a lot of odd things people get upset about. I don’t like to see littering pigs have six pack rings or plastic bags all over. Never thought about straws though. |

I got my first paper straw a couple weeks ago at Parson's Chicken & Fish. It got soggy very quickly and it made my Negroni slushie taste like cardboard. Next time I go there I will bring my own straw(s). |

The cruise ship message boards are literally exploding over ships getting rid of straws. To me, no big deal. If I need a straw I can BYO. Set of 4 on amazon, $10. |

We have those. Wife bought glass ones years ago too. I rarely find myself in need of a straw however. |

May be one of the worst things you could reuse. Kinda like a sippy cup. I always blow in my straws when I get them. A guy I knew many years ago used to work at a place that produced them. He told me they would be out so long that spiders would build webs in them. |

Instead of banning plastic straws, just stock fewer of them and only make them available by request to children, the handless, and the poor-muscle-toned. Able-bodied adults will have to drink from glasses normally. |

Much like when Kennedy stopped the trend of wearing hats and the rest of America followed, similarly Trump should start drinking from sippy cups, and perhaps similar things will happen. |

Just a classic dumbass liberal “focus on something that doesn’t really even matter” strategy. The 500 million number is ridiculous. It’s like 180 million and it still counts for a statistically insignificant amount of our pollution. This whole notion is stupid. And I can’t even remember the last time I used a straw for anything. It’s been years at least. |

Have you ever been to Mississippi? You'd be on your 5th big gulp right now at this time of the day down there. |

Why do people actually need straws? Is everybody still six years old? A McDonald's type to go cup for pop or shakes can have a redesigned top that is similar to their coffee lid. An individual box type juice drink can have the same opening for sipping like a box of chicken broth. A Capri Sun's package can also be redesigned with a little sip cap similar to those Go-Gurt packs. There, somebody take those ideas to Shark Tank. |
