He should play football. He will be a first round QB and guaranteed way more than the 5 million he signed for.

Well if he is Ricky Henderson he cashes in when he is 29 or 30. If not....

He’ll still have an intact brain if he goes the baseball route. Also what’s the burnout rate on 1st round QBs?

If you're a 2 sport athlete between football and baseball, you should choose baseball every time. The contracts are guaranteed and the careers last longer.

Just look at Samardzija. he would've been a 1st round WR pick in the NFL draft but went the baseball route. He is a mediocre pitcher and earns more than just about any WR in the NFL, plus his NFL career would've likely been long finished by now.

You get guaranteed big boy bucks for being a 1st round pick in the NFL. You may get a $1M signing bonus if you get drafted high enough in the MLB draft and more than likely will never get a big free agent deal after you churn on your rookie deal for 7 years or whatever it is.

Mike Judge has always been criminally underrated in this culture. I know he's gotten his props, but . . .

A lot of ex-NFL players go broke. Few MLB players do. There is a reason for that, the money is guaranteed and the careers last longer.

Just look at Gordon Beckham. Completely sucked and still earned $15 million.

As I pointed out with Samardzija, he is a mediocre pitcher and earning as much this year as the highest paid WR in the NFL

I don't think the same is true of quarterbacks especially in the first round. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky already is going to get $29 million guaranteed and even with what he has shown so far he is going to earn far more than that on his next contract. Derek Carr is already at like $70 million guaranteed though he had to earn it as a second round pick.

Kris Bryant, so far, has made about $20 million with half of that coming in year 5 where (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky will be making a massive contract if he is even average.

Now, if you want your brain to work at the age of 50 then do baseball.

Didn't Bryant get 8 million signing bonus?

When you are drafted in the NFL, you are in the NFL. When you are drafted in MLB, you still have to make it to the majors and get a major league deal to make any money.

That's just cherry picking examples though.

Assuming Murray would be good at both professions, he would certainly make more money and stay healthier choosing baseball. If he sucked at both he would probably make a slightly bit more by choosing football.

Online it says he made about $10 million over 5 years before this last year where it went way up to $10 million for the year.

I'm not cherry picking anything. Good quarterbacks get paid huge money now. Kirk Cousins is already at $72 million and will be at $130 million by year 9 with another big contract likely coming after that. That is with him making very little his first few years because he wasn't a first round pick. Jeff Samardzija will be making $127 million in 14 years.

A lot of MLB picks have very limited MLB careers too. A first round NFL QB is almost certainly going to get multiple contracts. It's a huge number if they are decent. Even RGIII has outearned Kris Bryant so far.

Kris Bryant is going to make at a minimum $300 million more than RGIII in their careers. I’m not sure if this is a bit or meant to be a serious post.
