I was gonna wait until I know I beat this bitch but I realized tonight I did. I don’t need to wait any longer. Finishing my 4th day without a cigarette today. Feels good man. I’m not going back

Definitely was a factor, or should’ve been. Mostly I woke up Monday morning without any and just had a sort of inspiration from nowhere that I wanted to stop and I’m stopping. Didn’t really think of this a week ago but by now I’m certain of it.

Celebrating with cheap whiskey my friend. Jim Beam is also congratulating me.

Agreed. Thought maybe you'd find a picture with no cigarette.

I’m not running away from anything. I’m posting this on the patio of my apartment with a friend who’s smoking out here currently.

Good for you man. I quit cold turkey 11 years and change ago. Best decision I ever made in my life. Don't go back - you can do it!

No chance of going back imo if I didn’t do it last night and tonight while drinking. Already starting to breath better noticeably in the morning this morning. Not gonna promise fixing any of my other vices but I’m confidently knocking this one off the list.

Good for you, FF. I think I quit for good when I was 36. I had quit for a few years several times before, but with a third child coming, I'd had enough. Once you are ready to quit, it's much easier to do so. I'll never have another.

I haven't drank in over 25 years, and that also makes it easier not to smoke.

Squares are wonder drugs, though. They relax you and sharpen your focus (unless you're fucking blitzed) at the same time.

Good for you.

Though i guess this doesn't apply to marijuana cigarettes.

Definitely feels that way tommy.

More importantly, you have three kids? I feel like there’s a whole other level of tommy-ness we can unlock here like when LeBron got a consistent 3 point shot. If you have even more untapped message board material I look forward to your reign for years to come my friend.

I’ve cut back a good bit on drinking but still probably do it too often. I don’t consider marijuana much of a vice tho. At this point I’m 32 and would be shocked if I ever “quit”. Weed is great and I expect to partake in it in some form until I’m no longer here.

That smooth Carolina smoke still has it's tobacco stained claws in you. It always will. It will sing it's sweet song and drip it's nicotine love into you soon enough.

It calls out for you, you need it, you want it. Pick up that perfect tube of flavored goodness, strike a match ...watch the flames flicker and dance....light the smoke....take a deep puff....hold it in your lungs. Let it permeate the tissue, make love to your brain....you need it....want it.

Let go, FavreFan. Let it embrace you.

Dance.

Honestly, I must be playing way above my head right now, because there's less--much less--to me than what appears here. But yep, three youngins.

I know a guy like you has a favorite. Let us dip into tommy’s Universe for a split second and tell us briefly about your favorite my friend.

Kids, posters, or drugs? As far as kids go, they're all annoying and weird.

Stop fucking around. Marijuana is serious business these days. 10/10 would recommend.

get a nicotine vape now. you can go 4 days without cigs on masculinity alone. once life hits you again make sure the vape is ready. its a much safer alternative and it does actually work, and the best thing is as you vape you naturally wean youself off that shit totally. i quit smoking cigs without even trying because vapes work so god damn good that way... they take care of the initial cravings, but they also allow your body to heal while youre doing it, and it doesnt take long before you dont even think about vaping anymore. i still have one, but its full of CBD oil now lol.

I didn't realize that non black people called cigarettes "squares" as well. Tommy, we gotta talk.

And damn good for you FF. Hopefully it adds years of life to you. Not to mention tens of thousands to your bank account.

The first question I always hear from doctors now is: Do you smoke? You'll thank yourself effusively later, trust me.

I bought gum and a nicotine vape in the last few days once I realized I was doing. Even while drinking. I hardly used them. Hit the vape once today after lunch. Been drinking since 6 and haven’t hit it once.

That’s good advice imo but I don’t think I need it anymore. I usually don’t brag about will power and stuff but I’m realizing I have more of that than I thought. Feels good.

Congrats!! I had a little motivator application where you put in how much you smoked and the price of cigs, and it would run on your PC and show you how much money you saved. Back then, it was $2.25 a pack in Illinois.... I had it on the computer for probably three years after I quit and the money was in the thousands. I imagine now it would be even more crazy.

I had an aunt who did just that in 81-82. She quit smoking for good that day. And lived almost 30 years after kicking her 40 year, two pack a day habit.
