He's a man of wealth and taste. Probably drinking some mighty fine wine too. Might as well enjoy it, you can't take it with you. |

Julie Di Caro can celebrate both as the public defenders are one of the few unionized law offices. |

Unions used to serve their purpose but now they are a crutch for lazy, entitled workers that know they can't compete in a free marketplace. |

How many unions have you been a member of? What difference does that make? We all enjoy benefits that had to be fought for by Unions. I'm sorry you only see Unions through the lens of the mobbed up one with which you are most familiar. Enjoy the upcoming weekend which has been brought to you courtesy of Unions. |

The stories my dad told me every day of how people he knew that filed for workers comp than while on leave, ran side construction jobs for extra $$$ are endless. That was the demise of Unions, the greed. |

Owners used to serve their purpose but now they are lazy trust fund bums that inherited businesses that their great granddaddies used illicit and corrupt means to establish. See how that works? |

Caller Bob wrote: Perhaps, but I will pass on "kissing the ring" of the almighty "Union" Like most of the middle class you'd rather kiss the ring of the 1% guy. You admire him. You want to be him. But you never will. And you fail to realize you have far more in common with the guy collecting a welfare check than you ever will with him. And that's exactly the way the 1% wants it. |

It is possible to recognize the corruption and abuses alive and well with today's unions and still recognize they're necessity and contribution to the standard of living we all enjoy. My Dad spent his career as a proud union member and he made damn sure I appreciated what it brought our family. I can assure you he constantly refused side work offers as to not take away work from others. There's one, Bob you can exclude from your broad brush Picasso. The abuses / problems have more to do with our broken political system. It just so happens one major part of our broken system uses union to do their dirty work. There's no fixing unions without fixing our political system first. I've spent most of my work life not being a union member, but on belonged to 3 different unions along the way. |

And that's exactly the way the 1% wants it. My 18yr. old son got off work last night and was telling me about an exchange he had with HR regarding a possible union forming at his job. He pointed out that as he is an at will employee, the horrors they were claiming a union organizing were less than what he currently faced. They couldn't believe he knew anything about labor law and apparently he spent the rest of the conversation shooting holes in their arguments. I guess his public school education meant something. And now I've got a teen Eugene V. Debs in training. |

I think I hit 220 in a 2 week pay period before. I’m usually between 160-180 now. |
