That probably would have been hilarious 16 years ago.
When that song came out mitch was 9.
yeah you know in retrospect I should have gotten that "Kings of the North" shirt where that phrase is in the GOT font/style because it's a more recent reference. Or hell I reckon I coulda went for the other timeless designs akin to legends like "Ozzie Mows My Lawn!" Or " Cardinals fans take it in the Pujols" even tho I strangely don't remember what they were for some odd reason/s!
nevermind that the shirt is technically spot on re: Mitch being a known unknown heading into year 2/2.5/3/whatever because even tho he piled up some !!! #s last year nobody is really sure about Mitch; yeah he's obviously not 100.0% as good as his [passing] #s indicate, but is he able to become a legit starting QB for a contender? A playoff team? A bang average parity darling who rode a hot defense as far as it could go? (SEE: RAMS, LA)
this uncertainty is perfectly encapsulated in the mantra "I've got 99 problems but Mitch ain't one" cuz it hearkens people's worries about the bears (defensive fall-off, RB uncertainty in a post-jordan-Howard world, the black hole of infinite sucktitude that we call the Kicker position) but provides a sensible outlook re: the Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky Experience™®® that says "yeah he's pretty ok/solid/good [read: good enough] to such an extent that I'm not worried about him as much as [insert concern/s here]" ERGO lets remind the world that I'm at least shoulder-deep in my 30somethings by referencing a cool song from back when I was cool/er 17-18 years ago that just happens to literally/figuratively "rhyme" with a major talking point @ your average bears watercooler conversation all
around the world, let alone BEAR NATION™®©,
the city, etc.
TLDR = I shoulda DBOTW'd the guy for not having a hip-n-now "Old Bear Road" shirt for sale today #AintNobodyGonnaTellMeNUTHINNNNNN #AintNobodyGonnaSellMeNUTHINNNNNN </ignantmotherfuckers>AHEM... I digress...
LET'S THANK THE LORD FOR YET ANOTHER HOF-QUALITY POST FROM EVERYBODY'S GUY, DARKSIDE!!!!
