There is some family on my wife's side that are really good friends with the family of Conrad Gary, the officer who got killed on duty about 8 or 10 months ago. Saturday was his birthday, so the family spent the day at Wrigley Field. When Schwarber caught wind of this, he gave them tickets and basically demanded that they paid for nothing and he would take care of it all. He had them on the field pregame, then told them after the game to let the stadium empty out, stay in their seats, and he would come find them.
He did just that, inviting them onto the field to hang out until, "it starts to get dark, or the grounds crew has work to do." My wife's aunt thanked Kyle for all he was doing for the family, and he said he comes from a firefighting family and was "damn proud of it," and loves to give back to first responders whenever he can. She said he took dozens of pics and signed anything that anybody wanted, and was just an all around good guy. Jason Heyward was the only other player who came out to say hello to them.
He even gave the widow his personal cell number and told her to call him for tickets to "any game she wants, even in October, he would do everything he can" to get her tickets. Thought it was a pretty cool story.
That pussy KB couldn't even make an appearance. SMH
Lotta guys would give the widow their number, good looking woman.
