Now the all-time leader in yardage, completion pct, and TDs. He’s 29/30 in tonight’s game.

So how does this work?

Let's say Brady passes him. Then Brees passes Brady again for the record. Does Brees do the big celebration thing where they stop the game again?

Let's say he breaks it for a 3rd time does he celebrate then? When does it get tired to keep celebrating this thing?

Brady is done. The only question is if he wants to go home to his family.

Never count him out. His obituary was being written 4 years ago.

What the hell does that mean?

You didn't pick up my sarcasm?

That means you're not too bright.

That being said, the question still stands. Does he celebrate when he breaks it a 2nd time? Just wondering how this would work.

Brady has a game against the Dolphins this year, he could use that game to break the record again.

What? Is KC/Rams from last year the only football game you have watched recently?

I've seen like two halves of Bears football this year. My son is an NFL maniac so it is on pretty much on our TV evey night, live or on replay. Last night I went down to watch the Bulls and instead he's got MNF on with his eyes glazed over watching the points spin out of control like a slot machine at 2AM.

Well I was joking.

However, NFL scoring has pretty much averaged between 18 points per team and 23 points per team since the 60s.

Yeah I dunno. Interceptions and fumbles were twice what they are today so you had a lot of points scored by defense or set up by defense.

Brees went 29/30 with 4 TD's and no INT. His Passer Rating was 148.9. Who do you have to blow to get a perfect passer rating of 158?

A perfect rating requires:

77.5% completion percentage (check, Brees was 96.7%)
11.875% TD/ATT (check, Brees was 13.33%)
No interceptions (check)
12.5 yards per attempt (Brees was "only" at 10.2)

The thing is, if you exceed the numbers above, you don't get extra credit (i.e., his rating did not improve by greatly exceeding the 77.5% completion pct limit).

The yards-per-attempt component is also a reason (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky's numbers are in the toilet. He has the worst ypa in the league (a sickly 6.2 -- in part due to Nagy's dink and dunk play calling, in part due to his inability to see and read the field, and in part due to his inaccuracy).

Drew Brees plays for a different NFC than the Bears. He's great....I don't care. Fuck Drew Brees. I love New Orleans as a city, but fuck the New Orleans Saints, too.

I'd like to see Wilbur Marshall give him the Joe Ferguson treatment.

I was looking at a list of career TD's leaders and couldn't help but notice that a lot of them were drafted in the 2000s. Says a lot about the direction of the league in modern times. I couldn't also help but notice all leaders were white and what that says about statistical biases against quarterbacks of color. It's no surprise that the passer rating and other metrics skew the statistics toward white quarterbacks while diminishing the contributions of quarterbacks of color. That's another knock against Goodell during his reign.

The unwatchable stuff is the bullshit flags, player safety horseshit and all around awful officiating.
