Finally, the law of the land. Only works if we all work together, people. #respectthezipper

A lady I know up in the Twin cities told me about this a few years ago. As a driver you feel like a jerk cutting in at the last minute, but she gave me the strength to be that jerk. I am actually helping alleviate traffic congestion by using the merging lane. As a side benefit, I get home to the old Pulte a few seconds faster.

Pretty much. At least for the near future.

Maybe people will calm down when driving in a few years.

I drive about 24K miles a year in this city's fucking traffic.

This is the truth. And it is supported by research I've read. While in traffic. While driving at 4 mph.

When you turn a bottle of water upside down, does it all line up along the side of the bottle? No. No it does not.

All the water also violently crashes out.

"Doc," he said, "Sometime when the crew is up against it, the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to get out there and give it all they got and win just one for the Zipper. I don't know where I'll be then, Doc," he said, "but I won't smell too good, that's for sure."

Despite risking the anger of other drivers I have always done it that way. If for no other reason than the rationale, "I helped pay for this strip of concrete, I may as well use it."

Last couple years on the I-94 rebuild in Racine county they had signs demanding drivers to use both lanes to the merge point. It really does work better.
