Perfectly reasonable. If there is a big spike, keep it at 25% occupancy.

Love the fact that local Gov't cannot challenge and put their own order in place. IL would never be that smart, and we'll be "forced" to wear a mask until October.

Home rule and state's rights mean so much...until they (quietly) don't.

Not to mention the Don't Tread On Me b.s..

yes occasionally the government has made rules about what things the government can or can not do in an effort to prevent overreach. there's this obscure document called the bill of rights, kinda pertains to that. you guys should google it.

Republicans telling duly elected Democratic mayors what they can't do, even where it may be the better choice for their communities.

Duly noted. But Governor Everson & Tubby are the bad guys. Gotcha. :lol:

I've not suggested that everything they've been doing is agreeable to me, but then again I'm largely not affected by it. I can see both sides here and have primarily been interested in the hypocrisy and screaming cats without standing being the loudest voices.

Like in the two posts just above.

I would go to the movie theater, a concert or sports game if half of the seats were blocked off.

Reader here in the state of Wisconsin, you have a Democratic Governor telling Republican mayors what they can't do, what is the difference?

And you know what, if the venue were permitted to allow you to do that, I wouldn't care at the end of the day. And if you wanted to violate their rules, I wouldn't care if they kicked you out.

The governor has the ultimate authority. It's only cheered around here when he or she are republicans though. Just pointing out general board hypocrisy.

If the governor has the ultimate authority, why did you feel the need to point out that a Republican governor telling "duly elected democratic mayors" what to do appears to be a bad thing?

As I said, pick a lane. You are either OK with the governor being the authority, regardless of political party, or you aren't.

Actually no dipshit. If this was the Governor going "you don't have to open it's up to the cities" you would immediately throw a tantrum about every city that chose to stay closed.

This thing has shown you guys are nothing but fucking hypocrites. You show it more and more every day. The best part is, you get more are more pissy each day as you are called out on it.

Yes if the state or federal government told the local governments that they were OK with them violating basic freedoms of movement and assembly I would be upset. You have got that right.

As long as it was your guy doing the violating you wouldn't give a shit.

Who's rights are being violated, and could you please cite where in the US or IL Constitution the Exec is prevented from taking the measures he has?

I don't think that I've said much about the idiot governors of South Dakota, Georgia and Florida, but they haven't gone so far as to tell city mayors that they have no authority to self govern either. And I'm not the one cheering these kinds of moves either, only pointing out the hypocrisy from tea party ass clowns.

Any side that violates basic human freedoms, freedoms that are so basic they aren't even written down (like freedom of movement or freedom of dress), is not "my side". I wont be one of these people who will support things like the People's Republic of China or root for more death and disruption just so I can see a president I dont like "owned".

"I'll cheer governent flushing our rights down the toilet if it means I can score political points against my internet-opponents"

Take me inside the mind of this kind of person.

D = Good
R = BAD!

Why is the feeling that it is a political issue in that way? It seems most of the Democratic elected officials want to stay locked down. I'm not entirely sure of their motives but it really doesn't matter, I assume they are pure. Right or wrong Republicans seem to want to open back up but (mostly) they did go along with the shut things down for the last 6 weeks or so. There are middle of the road and Democratic voters that are on side of opening back up. My feeling is anybody that wants to stay in their house can but it shouldn't be mandated for anybody that doesn't at this point. We're beyond that. This isn't sustainable.

One of the largest suppliers of for groceries, restaurants, and chains, came out today said the supply chain is breaking. You are already seeing it in other countries and their response. Countries aren't exporting food and things like wheat are being hoarded. We are going to be is some serious trouble if we are shut down for the next 6 weeks if we aren't already in some serious trouble. It has nothing to do with being a D or R or I or whatever you want to label people as. "Industries" need to open back up in some capacity. We can't just stay in the house for another 6 weeks. It's not a political or government rights issue and it's not about power.
