An internal memo sent to Starbucks employees last week specifically warned staffers against wearing accessories or clothes bearing messages in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The memo, obtained by BuzzFeed News, reminds staffers that such messages are prohibited under the company's policy against accessories that "advocated a political, religious or personal issue."

That has been on Reddit since the memo came out. It's amazing how many Starbucks employees are leftist Karen's who do nothing but complain about other Karen's all day and hate their employer.

That's why I give most of my coffee money to two local independent places, once a week at each. Unless Starbucks is willing to give me a free pastry.

Gotta cut your losses here if you're a CEO and just let your employees wear what they want. Look what Jordan did. For years he didnt say shit and now even he's issuing generic statements about racial discrimination and pledging to spend money over the next decade on some unspecific cause. It's textbook vanilla and meaningless but it demonstrates he sees the tides shifting. And it's not too controversial to drive Republicans away from his shoes. Played it as perfect as souless ceo could. Too bad Starbucks didn't.

I expect that if I was to walk into Starbucks with that coupon and insist on a free drink, I'd get lectured on white privilege but that eventually they'd relent.

Otherwise somebody could just pull a reverse Tirico and insist that they are black but just from northern Canada. Sort of a Rachael Doleal.
