https://www.espn.com/olympics/hockey/st ... -inductees Quote: There was little debate about whether Hossa would be in the Hall of Fame, but his status as a first-ballot choice -- typically reserved for superstar players and those who amassed a slew of NHL awards -- was a mild surprise. Only if you're a complete idiot. |

Five if you count Joel Quenneville, the third-greatest coach behind Bowman and Arbour. You could argue Crawford should be the sixth. Pretty cool indeed. I'm sorry, I'm still mad that anyone would be surprised Hossa got in on the first ballot. Everyone who covers this league circlejerks about how hockey is more than scoring goals. Well, okay, then you can't be surprised that the greatest backchecking wing of a generation, who also scored a lot of goals, went right in. |

Nah, probably not. But consider that he has similar numbers to Lundqvist (both .918 career sv%, both hit career highs of .926, 2.43 for Lundqvist and 2.45 for Crawford for career GAA), and he's a lock, even though Crawford has been instrumental in two championships while Lundqvist has been instrumental in zero. One last late push might make everyone have to give it real thought. But of course, King Henrik was the star of those almost-good-enough Rangers teams where it was him and a bunch of dudes from upstate New York who all seemed to be named Ryan. Crawford, like all Blackhawks, falls victim to the Chain Of Only Good Because Of. We can play it all day: Crawford was only good because of Kane, who was good because of Toews, who was only good because of Hossa, who was only good because of Keith, who was only good because of Hjalmarsson, who was only good because of Quenneville, who was only good because of Toews, Kane, Keith, Hossa, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, and Crawford. |

I didn't know there was a soccer hall of fame. Good for him, whoever he is |

Big lol at Kevin Lowe making the Hall of Fame. He scored very high in all the "be on the same team as Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier" metrics. Craig MacTavish must be due up. |
