Not only the home of our very own Matt ( good guy, wears a mask ) but for those that miss life in the big city of Chicago, a little bit( well mass shooting really) of our violence finds its way down there too .

PEORIA, Ill. (WLS) -- Thirteen people were shot when a large fight broke in a crowd of nearly 200 people early Sunday morning in Peoria, police said.

The incident happened at around 4:40 a.m. near Water Street and Hamilton Street, police said.

A man who was shot in the neck and a woman who was shot in the back are both in serious condition.

Eleven other victims were also treated for gunshot wounds at local hospitals, police said.

None of the injuries are considered life threatening, police said.

Saw that on news. We actually had a shooting at our county seat a week or so ago. That was big news.

A group of about 16 of us used to go to Peoria to play Weaver Ridge for the weekend. Some of the guys are a bit "fancy". I always went to Hoops for pizza and got some of the guys to come along. They all loved the pizza so one year all of us went. Some of the "fancy" guys walked in, took a look around and walked out.

Some folks I know frequented the IHSA basketball finals when they were younger, and Hoops was always the post tournament destination.

That's what makes Hoops so awesome. You can go to Big Al's until 2:00am and still stop by for a beer and a slice after.
