As a veteran of 3 lifetime colonoscopies I can tell you they are a much less big deal than some would make them out to be. Even the pregame prep has gotten much easier. It is recommended one has one every 10 years beginning at age 50 for adults without increased risk for colorectal cancer. |

A 60-year old retard. Some time in my early 40s my doctor thought she saw something. That prompted her to order one. But it was nothing. |

That's the other thing that has me putting this off. Plus I generally despise medical doctors |

doctors are the worst. they never tell you that you can do without a procedure. and they never try to find the root cause. anything that treat symptoms is best for their bottom line. |

i did not enjoy my recent colonoscopy, and I assume Suprep is the worst tasting substance in the entire world. |

I got the stuff to drink at home, but haven't made an appointment yet. How horrible is it to drink that stuff? |

I think there are different types. What I had for my last one in November was not bad at all. But I am comparing it to my first which was pretty awful. |

shakes wrote: I got the stuff to drink at home, but haven't made an appointment yet. How horrible is it to drink that stuff? Pray that it is not Suprep. My doctor's office told me that even though this stuff was 'a bit more pricey' than some other types, it was going to be much easier to drink. Not only was this the foulest tasting stuff, but you had to mix this 6 oz bottle with 10oz of water, drink it within 10 minutes, and then consume another 32 oz of water in the next 50 minutes. I don't know about your beverage consuming habits, but that is a lot to take down. I wanted to cry the next morning because you have to repeat that same process. I did not think I'd be able to keep the Suprep down...each gulp and I was pretty sure it was all coming up. Couldn't even get the taste out of my mouth with the next 32 oz. It has been over a month, and whenever I think about the taste I lose all appetite and gag a little. Rancid death. Like consuming a corpse that has been liquified and then sprayed with some cherry scented chemical straight from a Dow Chemical hazmat disposal facility. Good luck. |

I think that is what I had. At least the mixing and the drinking of water afterwords sound right. I had absolutely no trouble with any of it. |
