They should also strip HIM of his medals.

Always felt bad for the real ladies who got their asses kicked by the imposters in the last Olympics. All that life time of work and then you get to the Olympics and you have to compete against men.

"until we can all run free the way we were born."

Oh, the irony.

This isn't really the case to celebrate. I think Semenya is a true cryptorchid who has lived her entire life as a female. That's a lot different than some dirtbag declaring himself a womxn and beating the shit out of females in whatever sport. It's just kind of a sad and unfortunate story all around.

This one is not the same as the guys who run as girls. Caster doesn't have male anatomy but is intersex. Though since she has Male hormone levels she should take medicine to repress it.

Yeah this isn't like the below average boy sprinters in Connecticut who decided to run as girls so they could win.

this story is so ridiculous it is hard to imagine even in THESE times that it is allowed. Connecticut is clearly dead set on ending girls sports as we know them and turning it into a sideshow. It is an outrage of the highest order that those two have been allowed to destroy girls state records and sweep state championships that actual GIRLS should have earned.

She didn't know she was a male though. I'm not really sure she is strictly male. I believe she's the rare case of actually being intersex, isn't she? She wasn't trying to take advantage. I'm not saying she should be allowed to continue running as a female. But there's no reason to hate her or to cheer what's happened. She's a human being that doesn't easily fit in the standard categories. I don't think making her an outcast is the human answer either. Like I said, it's sad and unfortunate.

This is a sad case, and people are going over the top about it. But the line has to be drawn somewhere.

And, how is this case, racist, sexist, or age old?

She could run against men without lowering her testosterone level through medication or surgery if she wanted. She just wouldn't win.

I thought she had the Y chromosome and male genitalia that didnt drop. Sounds like a male with a birth defect to me. Just because she came from a 3rd world country that couldnt correct the issue does not make her female.

There's more important things than just winning and that's on both sides of the issue. There has to be some humanity in it.

I don't think she should be punished for not knowing that she was a man. Her records should stand. By the same token, now that she knows, she shouldn't pout because she isn't going to be allowed to continue using a biological advantage to beat up on women.

I am mystified by the pushback against this athlete and a peculiar situation. But then again it's CFMB 2020.

A total sham were the Soviet and eastern European women in the 70s and 80s. This is nowhere near that. And fwiw, MANY have saying this kind of stuff about Black women athletes since the days of Althea Gibson in the 1950s.

Undescended testicles. Male. Now, what do we do about it? We should let it slide. You know, like masks. It's not the hill you die on.

Billie Jean King was just on a PBS program this past weekend saying that she heard it being said about Gibson at all levels of women's tennis when she was coming up. People still wonder aloud about the same thing with Venus and Serena Williams now. Or Brittany Griner, or any of the other "wildebeests".

I don’t know if Althea was accused of being a man as much as people thought it was unfair that she was black and talented. Whipping all the shitty white girls angered a lot of people in the sport back then. As far as the Eastern Europeans went those girls were filled with so much shit they pretty much became men. I would be very interested to see what showed in the Y chromosome test with Britney Griner. She looks much different than the rest of the players in the WNBA. There has to be a line somewhere or why even have separate gender in sports.

That would end the discussion, but for the undeniable fact that that has long been a sizable segment of the country well versed in disputing the humanity of Black people. Hell we have one or two here where it seems as if it's their prime directive at times.

Most of the talk back then was likely Jimmy the Greek type ideas (that superior athletes were being bred through forced selection) and not so much a claim that the females were actually men.

The Williams sisters are universally beloved. Serena is called the greatest of all time. She's also a billionaire. So I would say that society has embraced her. Saying people were mean to a trial blazing black women in the 1950s is like saying someone was mean to Jackie Robinson, and now this chick with a dick is being judged. They are not remotely related.
