he's been able to get like 5/+ sacks a game, which bails out the secondary and seems to minimize those big blown covwrage gains, which seem to happen at least 1-2 times a game (IIRC todays bug blown coverage gain wasn't seen by carr for a good 5+ secs and whwn he got the ball there for an easy 40yd pitch snd catch instead of the eaziest 6 all year dude dropped it. And i believe the raiders have one more big 30+ yd pass in them. Hope im wrong but if the pass rush doesnt get home you cant count on our secondary to.lock down the middle/deep parts of the field.) |

and once again justin fields showing hw's great in time killing drives to close out a game, as he got the ball back @ his 10-15 with ~9min left up 14-9 and methodically led thek dowj the field a good 50-60yds to get a 46yd FG with ~3min remaining (plus raiders using a timeout b4 the FG) so basically now i wanna sew justin get more proactive in closing out games and, say, pulling another 13 play 76yd TD drive out of his ass in.mid-late 3Q to get up 21-3 or 21-9 and prevent you from do or die drives like this last one where if you give them the ball back only up 14-9 you knowbthat TD is coming) Still, if youre gonna be good/better at one of those 2 scenarios/drives be good/better at the game-on-the-lime timekill cuz man, hes beem wondeeful when we need to kill time) |

3rd and 9 41sec left raiders out if timeouts. Not the end of the world if you gotta punt here... but still you woulda loved to see a xlever lil trick here to spring a runner dor a burst of ~5/+ yds with a chance of converting. Anything can hapoen, even if you gotta punt to them with under 30secs left. If that hapoens this would be one of tbose games you remdmber lime that 00s game in the georiga done where some 2rd string safety on soecial teams fucked up gave matty ice the ball with 20secs left snd they got the FG. OR WELL the bears were in FG range and got cauro the FG for 20-9. Like i said justin knows how to close out the final 5mins of (close) games. I just wanna see him.get proactive and do it earlier with another lomg TD drive in the 3rd to early 4th to rest up the devense and orevdnt us from.neexing to go 50yds up 14-9 with 8mins left where any busted set of downs results punting to them up 14-9 and likely ends up in a TD |

Nas wrote: Defense is back! desai did a really good job of adjusting the pressure after a slow to horrible start where carr had all day to sling it all.over the field, but our bend but dont break defense stepoed up.to only allow 3pts while they were moving it with ease. Basically as long as we consistently pressure the QB we can save our 2ndary from getting exposed minus the 1-2 big passing plays in every game. Todays big broken coverage pass was dropped but still, he's managed to.make robert quinn a player and look at how good our defense did without akiem hicks today. Jacobs was utterly pedestrian at best prolly doing like 11/28rsh 2/12rec with a rush TD to.keep fantasy owners afloat but not really threaten the beloved (bears.) All in all justin can make NFL throws look easy. Already that makes him head and shoulders the best QB out of OSU in years and years cuz while he can run and run and gun and do all the shit braxton miller and terrelle pryor did, they were either system QBs / game managers or raw athletic products (respectively) and seeing justin naturally adapt to looking like a proper NFL QB opetating almost exclusively in the pocket, i can only hope theyve been working on rollout/bootleg plays they can unleash against better teams in the coming months when they have no taoe on them. Or am i giving our coaches too much credit and theyre forcing justin to run nagy's pure offense better suited for a dalton or foles type? Either way we're only scratching the surface on what fields can do cuz if they ever play like ppl played madden with vick/young/jamarcus/newton back in the day where you send 3-5 WRs deep/vert and if they're open/man coverage you hit em and if they suck up the help/LBs you hit that edge with your QB and go for 15 -20/+. The fact that we havent seen it yet has me hoping we're just saving it for when we need it later as opposed to exposing it now against teams you can beat while training justin to play as a pocket passer (lest he go all jalen hurts on you and turn 5+ passing plays into runs every week and constantly put his body at risk by doing so) |

It was impressive. I was really digging the look they gave early in the 1st half that damn near looked like the 46 D. It wasn't exactly but it made me think everything old is new again. The Bears don't have the personnel to do it. They need more in the secondary and one more speed guy on the outside but it would be fun to reintroduce that to the league. |

And the NFL has to re-allow beating the living shit out of opposing quarterbacks the way Wilbur Marshall almost killed Joe Ferguson. |

Was it Wilbert Marshall who fucked up theismann proper JORRorshow, or was Wilbert not a redskin until years after that happened? |
