Fantastic Tom Petty set today at Martyr's as part of the Mad Dog Madden Memorial concert. Talked to Spiegs for a few, he remembered me doing Phil Simms years ago and was damn friendly.

Today was a great reminder of what friendship is, and the sentimental sap that I am...I still love the guy (Tim) even though I can't ever see him again.

Keep your friends close, everyone. Don't get caught up in stupid bullshit. Have compassion, and don't let your heart grow sour.

Time to get drunk.

Glad you had fun and I hope you got some closure, Z. Mad Dog's music definitely was not my jam, but he was certainly unique. I almost shudder to think that his sort of Act is a bit of a dying breed.

Even though it was 12+ years ago now, I still think of that Gallery show you guys put together somewhat often. I remember I played a great set, and the night and music overall was just amazing. I think Doug's BIL and I did like 6 Jameson shots. Did you throw chocolate bars at that one?

I did. That was my Willy Wonka bit when I did "Golden Ticket". Mad Dog loved that shit. He learned some of my songs, taught his band, and had me sing to them providing the band backing because he always said "You deserve a band, dude".

My favorite memory is him bringing me on stage to do "Dragons" and ending on the coda of "Can You Feel the Love Tonight", which was his closing song when we first met.

Tributosaurus is a fun time, as evidenced by their years of being together with regular gigs.
