For a period of time(10 years or so) I made custom walking sticks and canes for disabled veterans and cops. I used to give them out free to VA offices and clinics and a few VFW and Amer Legion chapters. Made from hard woods my family and I find in the Big Bear area out here in So Cal. These sticks also double as nice weapons to defend oneself from muggers, knife attacks, and the like. I hope to recover my hand motor skills due to parkinson's disease well enough to resume my hobby. I had some martial arts training using a staff like weapon and you can really disable an attacker pretty well if you know how to use one of the sticks that those Sykh's had. |
