i guess...how many ss do you need in a cubs hof? is one eligible every 50 years? 25 years? sure.

reminds me of the bitter disappointment of 1985. obviously, wasn't his fault. seemed a good soldier for the team. 1st pick in a draft and you couldn't be faulted for expecting better numbers.

Cubs rushed him up. He should have still been in the minors in 85.

yeah...bowa aged 4 years between 84 to 85 and couldn't play anymore, while dave owen wasn't an option as he was a terrible hitter. cubs had chris speier, another guy slowing down and not the answer at age 35? dunston or no dunston, cubs collapsed and finished what...25-30 games behind the cards or hated mets for the next few years?

i think every cubs starting pitcher hit the DL in may and everything went to shit.
