BIG shoutout to City of Fools for putting the Hoops gathering together and to everyone who attended today. Good to meet you guys I hadn't met before. We gotta do this again real soon. *Note* Thankfully no one had to be hospitalized. *Note* Krazy Ivan is now an official member of Black Lodge. *Note* Killer V thankfully didn't try to flirt with any of us. *Note* Zack and I had a midcourt collision and I think he enjoyed it. |

I second the shoutout. It was a good time and with a few more subs the games could probably be a bit more uptempo. I hope we can make it happen again sometime as I would do my best to make it out for it. Great to meet everyone. Time to self medicate and get ready for the big football game tonight, I will worry about the sore legs tomorrow. |

The "mid-court collision" might have been the hi-lite of the whole day. It was actually pretty hard, and it seemed to happen for no apparent reason, at least the rest of us had no idea what they were doing. |

Wait - WZ's collision w/ the brick wall before that was pretty good too. |

So did the surprise person show up? Who could play? Who couldn't play? Give us some details. |

There was no "surprise" person. I don't think...... We were all awesome - we each dominated and there were no losers. Everyone won convincingly. WZ dunked on me. It was only one-handed, though..... |

W_Z definitely had quite a crash into the brick wall. He managed to miss the wrestling mat on the wall behind the hoop. THat had to hurt. |

RFDC, as for details regarding players and their skills. I think everyone scored some points. No one player dominated, although the ones with better stamina probably stood out. Kid Cairo showed up a little bit later and while I don't think that really mattered, he scored his share of points. Killer V scored quite a bit and was probably one of the taller guys there. Conns had a nice touch from beyond the 3pt arc. W_Z could run circles around everyone and was willing to toss it up anywhere inside of half court, and made quite a few. COF had some nice handles. Everyone had their strong points. The 3 pt shot was utilized quite a bit, I think for the fact that people were hoping that would make the games go quicker. One sub on each side made for a lot of tired guys running around out there the last 45 minutes. |

Give us some details. the surprise person turned out to not be Goff and Weby, which is who the surprise persons were supposed to be. Evidently Weby couldn't give Goff a ride. M_C was a somewhat surprise because of travel, but he made it despite getting lost...I couldn't play [well] but everyone else knew their way around. I'll give props to everybody, cause they all could play...and Zack is likely hurting right now, that tumble with Cairo was mighty suspicious looking if you ask me |

Hawkeye vince, Killer V, Krazy Ivan, T-Bone and M_C are good big men...Spanky and conns were kinda tweeners...myself, darren, W_Z, Cairo and Hoffy were guards...I thought everybody could play but darren was a good guard who probably could have shot more, Vince and T-Bone turned out to be good shooters with some size, Ivan, V and M_C can play some good post and I was impressed with Spanky's game as well. Even Hoffy was far better than advertized, and he didn't have a heart attack. He scored the winning points in one game. After everyone got tired, it turned into a three point a-thon, but I think we got in at least 6 games. Played for over two and half hours....you could tell Zack was a runner, dude played some close D and got the most floorburns... |

I pretty much dominated. Eventually, I decided to begin missing some shots so the other guys wouldn't feel so bad. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating a little. If you're putting together a team, you want big guys like T-Bone, Vince, & Spanky. They were posting up well AND dropping in threes. Conns had great touch from the outside. Ivan & M_C were forces to be reckoned with in the paint. Darren didn't seem to want to shoot, but he made more than he missed when he did. COF and W_Z were fricking hummingbirds on the court, buzzing all over the place, always in on the action. Hoffy was WAY better than advertised. He didn't even seem to have even a small aneurism. I just wish Kid Cairo would have showed up. I miss that guy. (Hope I didn't forget anyone) |
