I love the Bears. I love to hear Bears talk.

What I don't like is local sports talk radio after a Bears loss. Nothing is worse than this, imo.

So what do I do, since I still want to hear football talk but want to steer clear of the meatballs?

Dan Patrick show
Jim Rome

The only local show I will try today will be B&B, 'cause they don't usually have the same old boring take everyone else does during the day. If they get too complainy...I go national again.

Any good national shows in the afternoon?

I have no suggestions for you, but I do understand where you're coming from. The novelty of Doug & OB being pissed off after Bears losses expired sometime in 2004 or so.

I'd say listen to B&B because they'll have Matt Bowen on. At the very least, Matt Bowen will break down a game and give you the x's and o's of exactly what went wrong, rather than the same assed angry, grunty, pissed off, "fire everybody" sentiments.

The calls/emails make it the worst. Its all Fire Lovie or Fire Martz or whatever.

Mully & Hanley
S&W are pretty good when the Bears win or lose.
Mac and CJH are very meatballish.

The callers to B&B will be the worst of the lot.

True, but the only saving grace for that show is in the way they deal with the callers. Those callers deserve to be mocked, and B&B have no problems doing that.

Silvy is my guy, but he gets a little too complainy for me after a loss. Waddle tries not to insult anyone.

I couldn't imaging myself listening to Mac after a loss ever again. He's just a B&B caller with a microphone.

With B&B, they will have the occasional dumb caller but as I explained a long time ago, one of my guily pleasures is hearing an idiot call in and just get destroyed. That I can deal with. I just can't take sad hosts with meatball thoughts...

I watch "The Dan Patrick Show" on DIRECTV's Audience Network. I can tell you that while he mentioned Bears' QB Jay Cutler getting hammered by the Saints' defense, he had "NFL on CBS" analyst Phil Simms talking about Panthers' QB Cam Newton, the Patriots' Tom Brady's fast start & his prediction that Broncos' third-string QB Tim Tebow will start a game at the end of this season. He also had Oklahoma head football coach Bob Stoops dodging rumors about the school going to the Pac 12, SI's Chris Mannix dealing with the controversial knockout that determined the Floyd Mayweather/Victor Ortiz fight over the weekend in Las Vegas, Falcons' RB Michael Turner on his team's big win over the Eagles last night on NBC's "Sunday Night Football" & Rays' manager Joe Maddon, fresh off his team taking 3 out of 4 in Boston over the freefalling Red Sox. Very little Bear talk to be found.

I use the Pocket Tunes iPhone app. Lots of sporting radio choices on there. Well worth the $9.99 sticker price a year ago. Plus, I heard it's now cheaper.

Got Sirius 101? There's a guy on there right up your alley. He hardly ever talks hockey. :P

I will answer your question with a completely unrelated answer.

My morning show of choice is the "Steve Czaban Show". You can podcast it on iTunes or listen live on some stations.

WFAN in New York actually isn't that bad in the afternoon when I'm in the car and I can't listen to an internet stream. It's normally a lot of national talk too.

Rick is the entire Steve Czaban ALS

Who's the guy that got into it with Reavis Mike Franchese or something?

I was listening to that station on a saturday and the host was talking about the confrontation and playing clips.

Struck me as a North at the Score at his peak situation. With the guy hosting being Fred.

Don't wanna. I was plenty pissed off last night. But that changed when I got back home (bomp chicka wha wha). I don't like to stay mad (especially over something like sports) for more than a couple of hours or so. The Bears are done. I've accepted that.

I was happy to see your Bulls shoutout last night. Those were my thoughts exactly. You've got to move on to the next thing...
