Thanks for the economy boost. The Markets loved it. Consumers are better off than people think.

This could be a turning point

Thank you everybody with money that you've spent. You are all martyrs. Medals deserved all around. Hi 5!

It's all Obama's fault.

It does, by almost any measure you prefer to use.

Correct but that doesnt mean you cant have a good day, week, or month that turns into a decent quarter etc.

I think today could end up being significant. Some people who I listen to on these things think so.

The flip side of a recession is that no one is spending money on stupid shit. The last 4 years Americans have paid down a ton of debt.

They are ready to buy stupid shit again...and since 80% of the econonmy is consumer driven...that is a good thing.

Not sure we are there yet. But we could look back at this season as a turning point.

How bout SPmack goin after Biggie? Nobody can call him out for not going strong if he's going after the ringmaster himself

2012 will make 2011 look like 2000.

Bringing home troops and ending broader military spending in Iraq alone will boost unemployment and stifle GDP growth. Happens any time the U.S. exits a military theater and brings home troops .

Throw in mandatory cuts in government spending at the Federal and State and Local levels....in the long run, good things for the U.S. economy, but not so much in 2012.

I dont think this recession is like any in history. Its unique. I think its hard to predict and look at the past for answers.

Everything you say has happened in the past but we are in Unchartered Totally Fucked Waters. Not sure its gonna shake out like every other recession

Well, it is a birthday present. I fully intended for him to just huff the rubber cement anyway.

Post subject:  Re: Record breaking Black Friday and Cyber Monday Shoppers

To think that one good day of shopping cured a recession seems a little far fetched in my mind. None of it has to do with Americans #1 asset, still being a home, that if not underwater, is below the value it had 5-6 years ago in many cases, dare I even say a majority of cases.

While I agree things are pointed up, included home prices and foreclosures are going down, this was just an inevitable happening. At some point there had to be a trend of less foreclosures. didnt need my finance degree to figure that one out.

And I dont think anyone with welfare checks was sleeping out to be the first person in for a discounted waffle maker. Just going to guess that someone living in that kind of reality, doesn't see being 7th to get a PS3 for $49 less as a "fun time".

Then again, that's just my guess.
