The game was over, and then it got real exciting late...but they just had too much of a hole. Still, game was exciting in the 4th. i'm sure MUD had a few moments. |

I shut it and took a nap. Same stuff every year. Their HC was a former big time LB??? When he wants to start teaching DEFENSE, NU fans will be ready. This clown was doing jumping jacks on the sideline to get the alum in the game. He is a figurehead and needs to go away. |

I was too busy guiding the NIU Huskies to a national championship on the PS3 to bother watching. |

Funniest line of the day was when one of the announcers said "Fitzgerald has brought the Northwestern program back to the level of Gary Barnett and Randy Walker". Fact check please. Under Fitz, NU has zero Big Ten Titles, compared to 2 under Barnett and 1 under Walker. For now, Fitz is a nice guy who is barely above .500 at 41-36. NU alums and admin love those coaches who can stay above the Mendoza line. And who could blame them considering the stiffs they've had there? But for media to claim Fitz has brought the program to the level of the two previous championship coaches makes him O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D clap clap clap clap clap |

The school is apparently planning to pave over a significant portion of its lakefill lagoon to accommodate Fitz's demand for a new, centrally located practice facility. Bad move. |

It's important to remember that planning to do something and actually doing it aren't the same thing, especially when it comes to the lakefill. A few years back the NU administration, then lead by Henry Bienen, wanted to pave over 1/3 of the lakefill lagoon to build a parking lot. Then the alums found out and started calling Bienen to persuade him that his view was shortsighted. The plan was quickly changed. While Fitz enjoys a great deal of (inexplicable) popularity with many NU alums, my guess is that he's not popular enough to warrant following through on a new plan to destroy the lakefill. The only way the new facility will be built where the current lagoon stands is if NU takes advantage of its right to extend the lakefill further into Lake Michigan. |

Maybe Fitz purposely lost the game to Army this year to appease the Corps of Engineers when he makes the request. |

The guy was named a Big Ten icon. How can you not love an icon? |
