Tomorrow the Score turns 20. Who like me has been there since day 1?

And who tuned into listen to the first minute. I did.

And also if you had seen a crystal ball and seen the Chicago sports scene today what would have been the biggest surprise?

My candidates

Northwestern being consistently a good team
Blackhawks winning a Stanley Cup
White Sox winning the world series

I gave a 10 and 5. You should be able to figure it out from there

Can you imagine what the Score would have been without Boers? He really is the anchor of the station (the 2 days a week when he's on the air). At least half of the Score's value when they sold it corporate is because of Terry. Whatever they pay him is not enough. I can suggest some deadweight talent they may want to unload to free up said money.

I think the following hosts were there from the beginning:

Weekdays:
Tom Shaer
Mike North
Dan Jiggetts
Dan McNeil
Terry Boers

Weekends:
Mike Murphy
Brian Hanley

Other staff may have included:

George Ofman
Jim Memolo
Fred Huebner

(Not sure of the accuracy of the above...feel free to correct.)

If not right on, that's as very close as I can remember, JB.

I believe Hanley and Boers traded off as Mac's partner in the early days. Also, Shaer had the late Tom Webb as a news guy.

Deep voiced Tom Webb on the morning updates with Sheaer and Memelo.

Man,Was the Score really that good back in those days.I remember people at my work talking about it but I thought I was too cool to listen to sports radio.Yet I was a rabid wrestling fan and playing fantasy baseball and football.

My old man listened to it and when I was a kid. I can remember "When the Levee Breaks" being played on HFC around 5:45 maybe? This was due to the signal getting bad for some reason yes?

Yup, I remember that. I think Hanley was there until Boers fulfilled his obligation to the Sun-Times and was able to start full-time on the radio.

Schaer, North & Jiggetts, McNeil & Hanley

Boers, Hanley & Telander did some rotating pattern. North I remember did some weekend shows. Back then McNeil was hockey puck, North was Sox, and Murph Coob.
