It actually would make sense that he got herpes (among other things :shudder:) in Wisconsin. |

Lindsay Lohan loses another endorsement. This is great news for my fantasy baseball team. I hope he's actually innocent of using PED's. |

Right Frank, Maybe you might want to check the CDC stats on rates of STD per states. After reading them you might want to move up here. But don't bother, we have enough fat, bald, ignorant types up here to last a lifetime. I thought Braun would be get the 50 games, but this is not an issue on which to bring up STD. Did it ever occur to you he got it on a 3 gamer at Wrigley? Have a nice night. Oh, and if you are playing tonight, break a leg. |

So he tested positive for Testosterone at 4x what is considered "Normal Range" or 4x above the highest ever positive test? The steroid for herpes excuse doesn't make any sense. |

Four times the highest positive test. I'm ready to have this go away until we can just hear the real story. Which probably won't ever happen. |

Hmmmm, fishy as hell or not but at least have the decency to not feed the public an obvious bullshit "steroid for herpes" story. And in my opinion the 4x the highest ever positive test isn't beyond the realm of reason....it all depends on what that "Highest Ever Test" was. |

Why would they feed the public a herpe story? I'd much rather have done steroids than have herpes. |

This is not shocking. There are probably more STD's than PED's in baseball. They go to lots of different cities throughout many minor league seasons. There are no standards and if there are its noting a few beers couldn't eliminate. |

Again Baseball turns a blind eye to the problem Why have they never realsed the 100 some test positive or explain why Braun was tested TWICE and now its all good? |

Now that they are saying this was based solely on a ridiculous technicality. The technicality is not the herpes excuse but rather that the individual doing the testing did not send in the sample as soon as possible. Jerry obviously told Bud that Braun needed to play every possible game this year so that Lahair would have some MVP competition and not win the award in unanimous fashion. |

Spaulding wrote: Why would they feed the public a herpe story? I'd much rather have done steroids than have herpes. If he tested positive for testosterone ratios that were above the normal range (hence the positive test) it would have nothing to do with cortisone shots or cortisone steroids. The two aren't linked, as far as I know....I can't believe they would use the "Herpes medication" thing as an actual explanation. Bullshit story fed to the public to protect the golden boy, or at least that is what seems to be going on. |

Hey Frank, Since I moved to WI in the 70s I always thought the locals felt an inferiority complex vis a vis Chicago. It was not until I joined this board that I realized that some people in Chicago have an inferiority complex towrds WI. And Frank, I kid you because it seems like you are someone who has never posted positively on the board. But I am serious when I wish you well in your musical career. And finally, like UMN, I AM NOT CANADIAN! |

bigfan wrote: I still think he used...just the test results were a problem, 4 times more than anyone before? Good precedent sent here. All players need to do is really overdo it with the drug taking and they will get off. Only the people who try to cover it up will get suspended. |
