Time to put all the minor sports back in the closet. As and Mariners in extra innings tied at 1 apiece. |

Why don't they televise this? It would be cool to see the game from Japan and it is a hell of alot better than the douchebag mikes or nba highlights. Regardless....Ichiro is well on his way to 25OO hits this season with his 3 hit performance so far. |

I agree. Let the WS Champs open the season on Weds or Thurs night at home, and then everybody else should start. |

They decided that the best idea was to emulate those leagues. So they turned a blind eye to drugs to increase scoring, and began a sonic, visual, and aural assault on our senses at the games. It worked out badly. But the owners didn't think so because even though the NFL was leaping ahead in revenue, they were growing themselves. My girlfriend causes me to watch What Not To Wear on occasion. And sometimes a 40 year old broad who dresses like a hoochie will come on. And Clinton, the gay fashionista will tell her, "You're dressing like a sixteen year old. You know what happens when 40 goes up against 16? Forty loses every time. Forty can top sixteen but she can't do it playing the 16 year old's game. She has to do it with style, grace, and class." And the same thing applies to baseball. It can't beat the NFL and NASCAR by trying to be more obnoxious, louder, and faster. It can't out-dumb dumb. It has to be what it is. Baseball is where we go to escape the hectic bullshit of our everyday lives. I only hope the powers that be have figured that out. |

And then they play each other again to resume the regular season. |

1-1 tie game in extra innings played in a foreign country at the crack of dawn. How is this better than soccer? |

What is the rationale of opening the season in Tokyo? To grow the game? Baseball is already big in Japan. To showcase major leaguers? I am sure the Japanese can follow MLB. |

I remember staying up to watch the Cubs Mets opener in Japan years ago. Turned it off and went to bed after a few innings. |
