I'm not trying to get all CGS here, but I spent the day with the best man, and matron of honor in my wedding. Along with their two young children. The kids are incredibly well behaved, but watching my friends work made me exhausted. There wasn't a point during the day they weren't actively doing something with the kids, i.e. feeding, playing. We did slightly screw up nap time.

Anyway, the reason for this is a shoutout to all of the great parents. I've seen plenty that suck. I was seriously falling asleep on the ride home, and all I had to do was make dumb faces and take the kids in five minute increments.

Anchor Steam is still the goods. Glad I could share the beer wealth. I'm starting to worry if I keep losing hair and drinking beer, I'm going to look like this guy.

At least you don't look like Scott Salem, Ronnie Mund, or J.D.

Went to dinner, with my 3 buddies (coaches) and kids from our little league team. 2 of the younger brothers* (4 and 5) squared off hockey fight style and started landing punches in each others faces.

*neither participant in said fight was a member of our team or the league representing the Chic Par District, but only relatives of said team members. The Chicago Park District does not condone such actions and is not responsible for any traces of CTE that may occur in the future.

My two youngest boys do that regularly. I love the horrified looks of the parents with only girls or one boy. Some crazy ass mother got angry because her son walked up to play football with them and it didn't go well for him. She still talks shit about us to people in the neighborhood about our undisciplined children weeks later. I gave her one of those "sorry" like John Belushi after he smashed the guitar in Animal House.

There are a million things in a community to be pissed off about if you let yourself.

True, but calling out someone as a bad or lazy parent is a bit much.

I remember getting in a fight with one of my friends when I was a kid. We kicked the hell out of each other, but I must have gotten the best of it because the kid's dad came over to our house to discuss it. I thought I was going to be in big trouble, but when the guy started trying to discuss the fight, my dad said something like, "I don't want to have this conversation because in ten minutes they'll be best friends again and you and I will be neighbors that hate each other forever, so let's just have a beer." Of course, the old man was right. We were back out there playing in about an hour.
