Won his 1,500th game today and is 20th on the all-time list in wins by a manager.

His managing style is often frustrating, but that's a lot of wins (even some in April when the Latin players haven't heated up yet). I saw an article on MLB.com that said, over the last 15 years, if he had pulled his starting at the appropriate time, he'd already have more wins than Connie Mack. That's big time.

There's a toothpick company in Cincinnati that was preparing bankruptcy documents when it was rumored the Reds were considering him as manager. They convinced their investors to hold off. Good thing. They just announced their fourth year of double digit earnings growth.

His son was just interviewed on local television and said the JT Snow over-reacted on that play at home plate in the '02 World Series. He said something to the effect of, "I saw the guy sliding in and I began to move away from the plate. Snow just over-reacted".

Cory Patterson, Neifi Perez and Willy Taveras are throwing out the first pitch in each of the Reds' three games this weekend against the Nationals. Nobody's sure why Dusty selected this bunch.

Bad Manager. Real good player. Bad Manager. Top of the list of race card players and hiding from the truth with son on lap. In Dusty we busty.

Not a bad manger. Actually I'd say a better than average manager. Just not one of the "greats".

How about better than average until it really matters. Then he is bad.
