Got a chance to talk to him for a few minutes this weekend. He thinks a healthy and successful Cub franchise is very important for baseball. When I suggested Uncle Jerry might not be on board with that idea, he said, "Jerry already got his." |

Lots of bouquets being thrown his way for making the franchises rich and giving no direction to the product on the field. I may be the lone voice on this but I don't find baseball to be better off because of him. |

I really don't get the whole B&B hate for him. Saying he is Jerry's puppet is just too easy. |

The game to me seems to have lost its soul but the teams are profitable and everyone is rich so Bud did a great job. |

WTF has he ever done? Nearly killed the game with a lockout, ushered in the steroid era, made it so half the teams make the playoffs and nobody gives a shit about MLB anymore! Good job Bud!!! |

Me too Nas but I really do not think Bud has anything to do with that. |

Baseball is baseball. It's slow and boring. That's the point. Don't try to dumb it down for knuckleheads. |

Selig is an asshole. The All-Star/home field bullshit, extra wildcard, keeping the Cubs out of the hands of somebody that had millions to spend for the current asshole...He's Reinsdorf puppet. I'll say this about Sveum,he always looks and sounds like a guy coming home to tell his wife he just got layed off. His answers to baseball questions are pretty solid,it's just the tone of his voice. |

wild card sucks. |

Hatchetman wrote: wild card sucks. With 3 divisions, the wild card makes sense. BUT ONLY ONE! To have a 2nd wild card and having a 1 game elimination of one of them makes a mockery of the wildcard teams qualifying for the playoffs. I understand that keeping a lot more teams in a playoff race creates a lot more interest in games late in the season, but it cheapens the format and was a mistake in my opinion. |
