Agreed. Feels like watching as a kid. Hawk is much more tolerable with Wimpy. And Wimpy is so much more likeable than Stone.

Love these games. There is a different feel in the booth. It helps that the Sox have been playing great, but Hawk has been much more engaging the last couple games.

Maybe Stone could go be the GM of the Cubs, and Wimpy can come back to the booth full time.

You could look at this one of three ways:

1. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and because Hawk doesn't call games with Wimpy every day, they legitimately miss each other.


2. Hawk and Stoney don't really like each other but they make it work for the sake of the broadcast.


3. Combination of 1 and 2.

I'm a Cubs fan but I love Hawk. He talks baseball like an old baseball guy which is what he is. Stone seems like he always has a stick up his ass. Wimpy was more laid back and liked to clown around.

hawk has probably been the worst broadcaster since i can remember...he was never good boviffs..not even for a week long stretch.

Well, Hawk has been on the warpath at Joe West for a long time. Mark Wegner is not Joe West, but the ejection of Quintana...Doesn't make much sense.

Hawk and Wimpy were a great pairing. Not sure what happened the last year, but the two together were more times than not an entertaining listen.

Hawk thinks the pitcher intentionally hit De Aza on the pickoff attempt.

Stone would call him on that nonsense.

Alejandro De Aza got hit in the leg in an errant pickoff attempt and forced to leave the game in the top 6th. He's listed as day-to-day, just like the rest of us. Makes me wonder who leads off Friday when the Mariners visit The Cell if De Aza is out.

Has anyone ever heard Steve Stone laugh? Ever?

Ive been listening to him do game for 24 years, cant say I remember a chuckle.


I guess with Stone he kinda does the deadpan thing or just tries to top whatever was the original remark

But man, thats odd.

When things would get really absurd with Harry he would laugh. It wasn't a guffaw, but he could definitely be heard chuckling. Haven't heard anything like that with Chip or Hawk.
