1991-92 Chicago Bulls: Back-to-back champions

Before the Bulls could claim back-to-back championships, they first had to rally from a 15-point fourth quarter deficit in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Portland Trail Blazers. And it was a group of reserves playing with Scottie Pippen who turned the game around. Little used Bobby Hansen recorded a three and a steal, Scott Williams had a pair of blocks, and B.J. Armstrong with four assists and a jumper to cut the deficit to five almost midway through the quarter set the stage for Jordan’s return. Michael Jordan then scored 12 of the team’s last 17 points for a 97-93 victory.

After winning the 1991 championship on the road, the Bulls got to celebrate with their fans, as players scaled the scoring tables to salute the crowd. Traffic was tied up downtown as spontaneous celebrations broke out into the wee hours from the Chicago Stadium to North Michigan Avenue.

I still have Game 6 on VHS. I'm gonna watch it tonight before Thunder/Heat.

You too?

I taped it and cut the commercials. I was proud of myself.

I watch it once a year.

I seem to remember hearing that fact at some point in my life.

Later tonight bryon russell is going to wake up in a cold sweat screaming about that last shot.

Why would he wake up screaming about Stockton missing a 3 pointer?

I remember this time very well.....13 year old Camps was happy because we moved out the hood (61st and Dorchester) to Park Forest. As kids, we were excited because we lived right across the street from the now closed Centre Mall (it was an outside River Oaks type of mall), complete with a Dollar Movie show.

About a month later though, I moved with my pops on the west side....

Damn man. You've been all over. I didn't realize that.

Yet, no one questions where you grew up. Interesting...

I was in Park Forest for all of 2 months, tops.....then it was back to the hood.

I do wonder how my life would have turned out had I stayed out there.

May have told this one before, but dont care.

After the comeback, Bulls win and the place goes crazy. Me and my guys have locker room passes, we make our way down to the locker room (Had to go downstairs in Chicago Stadium) but it was so packed, even with the passes we could not get in. Yes, very Wayne and Garth like,

So we just walked back upstairs and sat on the basket.

Nobody was leaving the fans just starting cheering louder and louder, honestly dont think one person left! 10 minutes later security comes running out of the stairwell, making a path and BAM....Horace, Scotty, MJ, etc

And Yes, I got to high five each one as they came out of the locker room! Player jumped on the Scorers table and thus you have what is known as "THE LOVE IN". Still have a towel, water bottle, chair etc from that night.

Here is a pic of an example of what would go down when MJ pulled up. 6-8 offduty cops would form a circle around him. So when he wanted to run back out. Look out bitches!
