Green Bay Packers tight end Jermichael Finley's agent started Friday by calling out Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, and ended slighting the man who throws his client the ball.

Finley's agent, Blake Baratz, first tweeted criticism of Jay Cutler's news conference:

"Jay Cutler, u serious in ur press conf last night?U sound like a 6 yr old who just had his animal crackers taken. Quit being a [expletive], own up," Baratz tweeted, adding: "There's a major difference & drop off in leadership from Manning, Brees, Brady, to the next best QB's in the league. Cutler doesn't get it."

When asked why he didn't include Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on his leadership list, Baratz tweeted:

"ARod is a great QB he isn't a great leader. There's a major difference. Leaders take the blame & make every1 better. He doesn't."

In June, speaking to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Finley stressed the importance of having a relationship with Rodgers.

"Having an offseason, having chemistry with your quarterback is a big key to success," Finley said. "I promise you."

Baratz's comments are strange for a litany of reasons. A few of the more compelling include:

1. Baratz deftly undermines Finley's summer comments about chemistry in 140 characters.

2. Why would a man who makes his living representing NFL players, disparage NFL players publicly?

3. It's in Baratz's, best interest to have Rodgers happy, confident and willing to throw to his client.

4. It's just a bad opinion. Rodgers is an elite quarterback.

I totally agree. Rodgers needs to throw the ball, run all the way down the field, catch the ball and then hand it to Jermichael and then block a path for him to the endzone.

Now, this is some bull shit!!!

Also, Finley's agent is one of his good friends, shocking.

I really have tried liking this piece of shit baby, but between him and the people he has around him he can catch the next bus out of town. Except he would probably drop it.

More Packer photo fallout: Jermichael Finley responds to Rodgers

Posted by Michael David Smith on January 29, 2011, 9:12 PM EDT

The Green Bay Packers team picture controversy is still not going away, as tight end Jermichael Finley has now joined linebacker Nick Barnett in taking to Twitter to say quarterback Aaron Rodgers was wrong to criticize injured players who didn’t rehabilitate in Green Bay.

Immediately after Barnett hit back at Rodgers on Twitter, Finley weighed in with a tweet of his own, siding with Barnett: “@NickBarnett TRUE FACTS RIGHT THERE.”

A few hours later Finley added, “For my followers that want to know why im rehabbing in AZ, bc I get the top of the line training. Its YOTTO folks. Think before y’all speak. Fans listen, I love u all, and have been working my tail off 5 hrs a day since I have arrived in Arizona. I love the packers. Everyone in the NFL knows that this is a business and if I don’t take care of my body to be Best player than I can be, then I won’t even be around to win a Super Bowl in the future. I’m a packer for life, AROD is my guy!”

It’s amazing that something as seemingly trivial as a team picture has become a source of such controversy this week, but these are the things that happen during the week off before the Super Bowl. And every player on the Packers needs to know that every word he speaks (or tweets) on the subject will be amplified by the thousands of members of the NFL media who don’t have much else to write about this week.

I don't remember and it doesn't say here, but what did Rodgers say? Finley better enjoy these 2 years in Green Bay as I can't see them resigning him, he has a ton of talent but can't stay healthy and can't stop the mistakes.

Aaron Rodgers has weighed in on the controversy over whether players on injured reserve belong in the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl team picture, noting that some of the players who complained when the team initially planned to keep them out didn’t stay involved with the team after they got hurt.

Rodgers was asked today what he makes of the story (which Packers coach Mike McCarthy called a “total overreaction“), and his answer was chronicled on Twitter by Jason Wilde of ESPNMilwaukee.com.

“I was on IR back in 2006,” Rodgers said. “I chose to stick around and finish out the season with my guys and be here every game. Some of those guys didn’t. And so, we love them, we care about them, we don’t wish injury on anybody, but this is a group of guys that’s really come together and has been great to work with. It’s been great to work with guys we brought in. Some of the guys who were injured, you know, they are still part of this team, but some of them didn’t choose to stick around.”

That’s not to say Rodgers doesn’t want the guys on injured reserve to be in the team picture — which they will be, after the Packers changed their minds and scheduled the team picture for Friday. Rodgers made a point of saying of his injured teammates, “They’re part of this team, first and foremost.” Rodgers then added, however, “But some guys choose to rehab in other places.”

As Wilde notes, Rodgers easily could have danced around the question, and the fact that he answered the way he did, with comments clearly directed at tight end Jermichael Finley and linebacker Nick Barnett, indicates that Rodgers felt someone on the team should speak up — and that he thinks most of his teammates feel the same way he does.

Its a shame Jermichael didn't send some of his rehab time in Arizona visiting a hand specialist.
