Rarely get praise around here, but they are killing the post-game coverage. Gruden/Tirico/Young/Dilfer etc are just throwing haymakers at the NFL for this. Really great TV.

Gruden was really down about it. He was excellent.

Dilfer and Young were as well.

Even their SC Updates are just matter of factly saying "Green Bay lost on a blown call on what appeared to be an interception."

Yeah. ESPN is doing a great job with immediate, strong reaction to a game that was on their own network.

I also don't think enough is being made about Tate and his push off. I know a lot of shenanigans go on during a jump ball, but his push off was so freaking blatant. Terrible non call.

I'm guessing enjoy it tonight. Once the early AM email comes out from the execs, the talking points by the hosts/pundits are going to become much more neutral and 'it was just a judgement call' etc.

They don't want to piss off the NFL.

It sounds like the Packers players have about 5 mill in twitter fines coming. I don't have a twitter account to check that but they are saying players are going off.

ESPN, CBS, FOX, and NBC all should be ripping on them, and for the most part, I think they all are... they are paying BILLIONS of dollars to the NFL for the rights to these games, and the league isn't giving them their money's worth -- there's no need to try to stand behind the league.

This is unprecedented criticism of a call. I plan to wake up and see it reversed.

Am I mistaken, or was the 12:30am 30-second baseball update the first thing they've talked about since the game ended that wasn't the game ending? They are hammering away unlike anything I've ever seen them do.

They finally cut to regular sportscenter baseball coverage. They had everyone on earth they could get on tonight to rip the call.

Not from what I saw. There was lots of silence, where it was obvious that he wanted to say something, but didn't. I remember thinking that Al Michaels and CC were being honest about calls the entire game.

Gruden and Tirico didn't get on board until the officiating was so bad that they could no longer pretend not to notice it, in the fourth, on Seattle's second to last possession (two straight holding penalties, then the phantom PI call).

Only then did they really get on about it. They would have looked like total idiots if they didn't jump on that last play too.

I give them partial credit...

This call was just as bad as the Calvin Johnson no t.d./t.d. last year...I hope everyone stays critical when the old refs return and are almost as awful.

No.

That wasn't a bad call. That was the right interpretation of a bad rule.

Last night was an awful smorgasbord of confusion and indecision.

kinda the same though..both were reviewed and the wrong call was made and determined the outcome of a game....technically they can not review possession on a replay..so the one ref signaled td..his foot would have to be out of bounds to change that.

Obvious bad calls on seattle's last drive. However, I don't think enough was said about the bullshit interference call against Seattle on green bays last touchdown drive. Green bay had a 3rd and 4 or 3rd and 6 from about midfield....a terrible pass interference call kept their drive alive. They may not have scored the rest of the night....so fuck green bay and their complaining. Gruden pointed out the bad call at the time...but never hung his hat on it or brought it up again. That was a huge play in the game in my estimation.

People who are bashing the refs are kind of stupid. They are just as much the victims in this situation as any team who gets jobbed by a bad call. They don't have anywhere near the training and experience necessary to perform their jobs competently. I imagine if you thrust me to an executive level job at my company at this point, I'd make some hilarious boners.

I would like to thank the refs for possibly keeping jay cutler talk off my radio today. Also, regarding the disputed play sure there could be a push off called on any jump ball to end a game but doesnt the so called "tie catch" go to the offense by rule?

Wasn't a "tie catch". Clearly a pick.

"They should give Green Bay the game is what they should do," Gruden said. "There's no way Green Bay should fly 6,000 miles home after losing a game like this."

 Gotta love Gruden

Well, he's right. There's also no way Green Bay should encounter dragons on their way home.
