Pat Buchanan said Romney was "tremendously aggressive, but friendly." I thought he was describing you, Peeps! |

Ten-word answers can kill you in political campaigns. They're the tip of the sword. Here's my question: What are the next ten words of your answer? Your taxes are too high? So are mine. Give me the next ten words. How are we going to do it? Give me ten after that, I'll drop out of the race right now. Every once in a while... every once in a while, there's a day with an absolute right and an absolute wrong, but those days almost always include body counts. Other than that, there aren't very many unnuanced moments in leading a country that's way too big for ten words. I'm the President of the United States, not the President of the people who agree with me. And by the way, if the left has a problem with that, they should vote for somebody else. |

C'mon kids ... I really thought more of you were smarter than this .... It's too soon to start scoring points right now. The next debate is the first and only time when you start nutkicking, when the absentee voters have just gotten their ballots in the mail, and the election is only 2 weeks away. People aren't going to remember this debate. At most, they will remember the last two weeks. Thats why around the 20th of October it will be wall-to-wall political ads. Remember, people say all the time they are going to throw the bums out, and the same bums get back in .... |

Wow. I figured Obama would "lose". That's just the nature of these things with a downtime incumbent. But Obama looked unprepared. |

I only watched the last 30 minutes. While I noticed Romney's answers were pretty vague he did make some good points. Obama seemed to constantly be backpedalling and consistiently went well over the time allowed him trying to spin his case, often times ineffectively. |

In the first debate, you hardly even see much of the candidates, much less be able to deduce much from their performance. It'll be more of the same in the second one. The third one is where they'll participate the most. That is the debate where conclusions can be drawn. The fourth one isn't even worth watching, even though they'll still charge full price for admission. |

Good thread, Speeps. The President of the United States did a fine job. Not that it really even matters. Easy win... |

Krazy Ivan wrote: Good thread, Speeps. The President of the United States did a fine job. Not that it really even matters. Easy win... Agreed. Obama wiped the floor with the Bliff Blomenly clown. He kept his answers concise and within the time allowed. Never stammered or choked over this hown words. Looked calm, cool and collected up there. Never on the defensive and certainly never even brought up GW. Bush. An excellent performance all around. Very prepared, very presidential. |

Obama looked sheepish at times, much to my dismay. It seemed as though he barely escaped to fight another day. |

I didn't think the Obama daughters were old enough to have their own twitter accounts. Besides Barrack and Michelle, can you name the other two twitter followers? |
