This was one of the better sports books I have read, a lot of stories and info that I have never heard before. Certainly better than the regurgitated '85 Bears books that some people have put out there <cough> Moon Mullin <cough>
I didn't think Payton came off that bad.....he was a womanizer, not exactly a shocking revelation regarding a rich athlete or celebrity. Unless you thought Payton was on the way to sainthood, i don't think anything in this book should shock you. I don't think this books portrays Payton to be an evil man. He had his faults, like most people...he just had the money to make things happen.
