Why is it db worthy to increase tax burden on everyone in illinois when they increased the tax burden on us all to the extent of 150% and it solved absolutely nothing two years ago? Hmmm... tough call.

We're in the middle of a terrible local economy. No one has money in IL. Job creation is awful. Raise tax burden? I don't see that as a viable option. When "receipts" increase, they look for ways to spend it rather than decreasing debt burden, which in my personal opnion is counterintuitive.

Last Sunday there was something in the paper that stated 401k savings the mean for 35 or 40 years olds was something like 40K and the median was maybe 18K. I told my husband they are going to come for that someday and we should spend ours now.

On paper that sounds great but like Sir Darkness said, these assholes just find a way to spend the savings / increased revenue rather than put it towards knocking down the debt . Its a bit meatballish but theres no fucking way the schools should be in the mess they are considering that the profits from the lottery was supposed to exclusively benefit the school system . Fuckers found a way to get their grimy fucking paws on that and use it for their personal slush fund.
