If you ever listen to Mike and Mike, or any ND game you are aware Golics kids play OL and TE for the Irish.

Tonight, while ND played Kentucky, 2 players go down and the floor needs to be mopped. Who comes out with the mop. Jake Golic. Wearing his flip flops and all, he mops the floor. Did he grab the mop just once? I dont know, does he just come out for the big games, like Kentucky"?, but it was cool when he came back to the student section and got the high fives from his brother and Manti Te'o. Never been a mop guy fire up a crowd like that!

Gotta admit, ND looking like a kinda cool place to be these days. If Brian Kelly had any recruits there this weekend, I think he landed his people!

Notre Dame is an awesome place to be 8 days a year.

For the rest of the year, it's like going to church every day.

Willing to bet that practicing Christians are a minority in the student body, and Catholics an even smaller percentage.

In 2009, 93% of ND student body said they were Christians. 80% Catholic. Catholic Mass is celebrated over 100 times a week on campus. Every classroom displays a crucifix.

Interestingly though, you can drink in the dorms at Notre Dame(with many restrictions) but the nightlife there is terrible.

It really is like going to church for 4 years, but then again, people know what they are getting into when they decide to go there.

You would be wrong. It is a true believers type of place. The student body is also generally pretty good about putting its faith into practice. Mass times are announced at every game and services are packed after the game. It may make the campus lame, as Rick I think correctly points out, but they are not hypocritical. Even the football team is pretty well integrated into the student population. Every jerk off ND grad has a super cool story about the football player they roomed on the same floor with that they just have to share with you.

Yeah, come to ND, and you can mop the gym floor. Who wouldn't want to do that?

Doesn't Brick have some story of sharing a room with a Purdue football player?

Yeah. I have a bunch, but none of them are all that interesting.

The best one was that they invited me to an off campus football party but told me that I may be on my own finding a way back if they picked up some chicks. I was happy just drinking and hanging out with them in the dorms. I knew I'd never get in trouble.

A buddy of mine from high school was on campus at Notre Dame one day back when Bettis was there and he ran into him somewhere and Bettis let him and a couple friends hang out with him for awhile. Said he was one of the coolest guys he ever met.

Maybe Golec is doing public service for his underage drinking arrest.
