This guy is top notch. I think he is one of the smartest football minds around. He NEVER would have picked the KC Chiefs to win it all. Hubby dubby did.

Matt Bowen: Guys, the Chiefs offense is based around the Slant Six Heavy Right formation, that's what we called it, the problem with that offense is that when you overload one side so much then the Sam backer can slide over into Mike position to completely shut down the run, so now you're left with passing downs only and the Chiefs run two basic variations, the Pirate Red Seven Out and the Diamond Strut Motion Two. Everyone knows what's coming. We always knew what was coming. So teams only have to guess right half the time and that offense is pretty much dead for the whole game. That means no Super Bowl for the Chiefs.

He clearly tries to intimidate the listener with lots of 'technical jargon' but I agree, he's a good listen. Enjoy reading his columns on NFP breaking down significant plays

It's just too much. And the fact that bernstein laps it up makes it more annoying. dan is always critiquing other interviewers; maybe he should look in the mirror and tell Bowen not to use all that jargon since the average listener doesn't know shit about it. But no, danny loves it because it makes him feel superior to the "meatball".

If Dan was in the business world he would be screaming about giving him the 50,000 foot perspective,

That's precisely why Matt Bowen is so great, as a former player he can provide the view from in the weeds and deep dive to keep the meatball listener in the loop. It's refreshing that the WSCR football experts aren't all singing from the same hymn sheet. Bowen's playing career provides power to the elbow that makes him more relevant than the Hub.

Matt Bowen sucks. He rambles & talks way too fast.

Did you know that he played for Lovie, Martz & the Rams???

Once again, JORR hit the nail right on the head. I never played football but after watching a lot of games since 1970,I thought I knew some things at least. Bowen tells me and every other "fan" just exactly how much we don't know. The question is: "Why do i need to know?"
