Driving home christmas eve at about 1 am from another beautiful evening in NWI and I flip on the radio to hear Les. It was nice to have some decent radio to get me home at that time of night especially on a holiday.

Those are always the best moments of the show.

Dont forget one upping every caller, and dropping more names than every caller. Brutal.

the guy came in at a moment's notice to host overnight on new year's eve because of the lovie firing. I don't think that speaks well to the personal lives of him or anyone calling overnight to talk bears on nye but that is some dedication to his craft.

With all due respect, my personal life is as good as ever. Kathy and I just came back from a Cruise to the Bahamas, spent 2 more days in Fla, my 2nd Grand Son Nicholas was born on New Years Eve at 3:30pm, is healthy and was born hours AFTER the Lovie Smith era ended, and Kathy got a clean bill of health on a key physical. :D :D
Oh, yes, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Don't sweat it les, you are an old vet...Larry drops everything. To come in for 45 minutes..now that is embarrassing.

Les Grobstein wasn't scheduled to work New Year's Eve Monday night, but in the wake of the breaking Lovie Smith news, he felt an obligation to his listeners to do 7 hours of Lovie talk in place of Yahoo! Sports Radio that was originally scheduled on 670 The SCORE to ring in 2013. I applaud the man for that.

SHARK, all of that has already been said in this thread. Some of it more than once. There was no need to make that post.

As a WSCR listener & night owl, I would have preferred that Les stay home on NYE...& every other night for that matter.

He could do the show from home if he chose to do so. Boers phones it in all the time. Why all the Les hate Shead?
