Just try and name one other Chicago based Big Ten team with a better record. |

I would be willing to bet that Jay Berwanger would still get around that right end of the line better than the great MAC quarterback Jerdin Lunch, and Jay Berwanger is at least one hundred (100) years old, if not possibly deceased. |

I heard Fitz do about six or seven interviews in the last couple days and in every one he made sure to slip in the slogan "Chicago's Big Ten Team" at least once and usually more. That's branding right there! Hey MUD, was Coach a marketing major? |

There's the Yankee fan picking on NIU. Do you pull the wings off Orioles too? |

Why not? NU is the biggest program in the Chicago area also the other schools in Cook County at least don't have football teams. I know a lot of UIC, Loyola and DePaul alums have adopted the wildcats to root for in football since their schools don't have a football team (root for their own alma matters in basketball). Some U of C students too but there is such an academic rivalry there that they have a hard time rooting for NU in anything. |

I wonder if NU would have put up a better showing in the bowl than NIU? |

So you literally believe that Northwestern is accurate that they are the Big Ten Champs of Chicago?

Well they are the best big 10 team in the Chicago area . I have no idea of the geography of Indiana. Would Purdue be considered in the area of Indiana that is considered Chicago area? |

It's normally considered that the "suburbs of Chicago" end around Merrillville which is about an hour away.Purdue would have to be Gary's Big Ten Champions. |

I remember going to a couple of games as a kid back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Uncle by marriage's entire family went there. We don't speak to him the week NU and Purdue play . |
