Bio on NFL network this morning. Always just great new info.

-Ditka DUI after the Dallas game, on 294 North. Ditka says he was swearing at the cop, while being bent over the hood and handcuffed....but the best is the camera then cutting to McMahon saying he was driving by right when the cops cuffed him...Honked and waived.

-Outtakes of the interview, Ditka calling the camera guy 'Cesil B DeMills", with a "Lets go...it's an interview, not an epic"

-V. Dallas when up 28-0 Ditka wanted to stop the blitzing because it was Lamdry, his mentor, he asked Buddy to stop blitzing and Buddy gave him a "Fuck you, I handle the defense!"

Could watch a 5 hour movie on them!

That could be 2 hours worth.

"never felt so helpless in a football game" Joe Montana after getting sacked 7 times v The Beloved.

Reminded me of Grogan saying it was the first time since he played pee wee that he was scared. That as from the Super Bowl.

Most dominant team we've ever had in Chicago, including the 72 win Bulls.

Nonsense.

They didn't have to play against big black studs!

Agree.

The Bulls had an amazing national appeal and the 72-10 was great, but the Bear that year were complete bad asses!

ESPN ran a poll a few years back as to what was the best Super Bowl winning team and the Bear got 40% of the vote out of 5 options.

WOOF WOOF

Also, top Chicago Sports Moment, Fridge and Wilbur running back the fumble as the snow came down. That was pretty intense!

Agreed on the dominance...but I always wonder what would've happened if the Bears had to face the Dolphins again in the Super Bowl.

Didn't they film the Super Bowl shuffle right after that loss? Ballsy!

I always felt the 1992 Bulls were better than the 1996 Bulls. Jordan was at his absolute apex in 92's, Pippen was also more dynamic that year as well. You also had the underrated Grant and solid core of Cartwright/Scott Williams/perdue at center, much better than Longley. I also liked the shooting they had with Armstrong and Paxson. Most of it however revolves around MJ. I wouldn't take any player ever over the 29 year old 1992 version, I think he's considerably better than the 96' version.

You'll probably get an argument on that from most of the average fans, but among basketball insiders and those who really know the game, the teams from the first threepeat are considered stronger than those from the second.

I believe Dan Bernstein shares the above view. You will undoubtedly want to immediately reconsider your stated position.

Im not sure I agree with NBA insiders

Also, its not like you can only compare 3 vs. 3

The 72 win team was probably better than the team that beat the Lakers

If you are looking at the first 3 years vs. the 2nd 3 years as a whole then no doubt the first 3 year run was better. But for an individual season, the 72 win team was by far the best IMO.

I disagree. The 92' team had MJ at his absolute best, better bigs, an even more dynamic Pippen, and awesome shooters in Paxson and Armstrong.

MJ was athletically at the top of his game in 92, but he was a more complete basketball player in the 72 win season. The Bigs are a wash. Rodman is better than Grant. Cartwright better than Luc. Pippen is the real place I disagree with you. Pippen was a much better player in the 2nd run. He was good in the first run, he was great in the 2nd. The 2nd run had great shooters too. Steve Kerr...

Super Bowl Shuffle took close to 2 months to start and finish. Notice all the guys super imposed in...and 99% of the singing done by one guy "FRENCHY"...he sings in a local wedding band these days.

I don't think he was a "more complete" player during the second run. Jordan had two distinct careers- the first as one of the most dynamic high-flyers the game has ever seen and the other as a damn good mid-range jump shooter. The one constant was his defense, although later in his career teams figured out that if you could force him into matching up with a quick little guy, he had problems. During the second threepeat I would compare Jordan's offensive game to Rip Hamilton's. That certainly isn't why Jordan is remembered as "the best that ever was, the best that ever will be."

11-1 in the 2005 playoffs is one of the most dominant runs ever.

So. Chew on that.

If that Rip Hamilton would show up, this current Bulls team would be something.

The problem is, Rip Hamilton has also had two distinct careers- one as a great mid-range jump shooter and the other on the inactive list.

Jordan was as complete as ever in 1992. It was the peak of peaks, the absolute apex of his career. It was the perfect combination of athleticism, mind, and skill. He still had the incredible athleticism, his shot was beautiful and he could destroy his opponents very easily. The bigs are not a wash. The 92' team had three bigs who were big and could defend and rebound. Williams, Cartwright, and Perdue were all as good as Longley. Longley was ok, but he couldn't move his feet, Wennington was just a big body with a decent shot. 92' Pippen was also a better athlete and had an incredible year, as good as 96'.

The 05' White Sox should be revered in a similar fashion. A 99 win team that absolutely obliterated every team in the playoffs.
