He's on the muscle this morning, letting mf'ers know what's what and where they can get off. Gonna have to proclaim today 'good dolphin Hate Day' if he keeps rolling.

You are a wise man Don.

I won't be able to handle an entire day today. I have to go to services and such. This is Satan's hour.

Wow; I'm ashamed ... I was going to ask what was going on on a Thursday, but I then remembered it's the week of Easter.

Tonight is the Eucharist, and tomorrow is the stripping of the altar, right?

No, the alter is stripped and the eucharist is moved after services tonight. No music is played during the recession (happens on palm sunday as well). Veneration of the sacrament is held in many churches tonight. I follow the tradition of visiting seven churches. My path will include the traditional north side polish parishes as they have elaborate set ups that are a useful teaching tool for the kids.

We'll be at St Mary of the Angels between 10:00 and 11:00.

Stand on the front stairs yelling "Seacrest where are you." I'll find you that way.

Hmm ... I recall it being slightly different, but then again you're NL and I'm AL (although, technically, you have the DH and we don't ... go figure).

Didn't know about the 7 churches tradition; curious about that, purely for the sake of self-edification, of course.

Jesus or dolphin? I often confuse the two since they're both angry black women.

Appropos of nothing at all, it just occurred to me that if one mispronounces canabis (sp?), it can rhyme with Barabas, as in "Dude, pass the canabis, Barabas!".

I'll see you all in Hell.

I'll just speak English to distinguish myself from the crowd.

Your choice of locations doesn't suprise me.

The alter is specially prepared during the actual service on Good Friday and then stripped again. The Eucharist is transferred from the side alter and then returned.

Your lack of surprise was expected.

Would you rather stand in front of St Stan's or Holy Trinity?

St. Hyacinth is the one I think is the most visually spiritual

St. John Cansius has the circuses with the "thorns" and such.

Usully don't go that far north.

You can do the seven real quick if you hop off the Eisehower at Racine for an hour, and then hop on and get off the Kennedy at Division and at Armitage.

St John's is a hit or miss. Some years yes, others no. My dad used to take me to St. Hyacinth as a child. He worked about a mile or so from there.

It's humbling to go these places to find the relative weakness of my faith.

When SMA was closed, I met the grandson of one of the original families that had the church built. The stories of love and sacrifice that went into that building were amazing.

That answer is obvious to even the most basic of intelligences: ashes are distributed on Ash Wednesday, which is the first day of Lent. The Ashes are produced at the Easter Vigil celebration on the evening of Holy Saturday. The celebration begins outside of the church, where the unused palms from Palm Sunday are lit signifying Jesus as the light of the world and a breaking of the darkness of holy week.

I used to be an altar boy. I became one in the first year the Priest turned around to face the people. It was also the first year the mass was translated to English. I remember thinking that was a big relief.
