did you guys hear the autotune the news version of the interview in convenient catchy song format? they did a good job methinks.... it's the same schtick as the bed intruder song that got antoinne dodson his 15 minutes of massmedia-driven-fame, and of course there's no hook as catchy as YOU BETTA HIDE YOUR KIDS HIDE YOUR WIFE HIDE YOUR HUSBAND CUZ THEY RAPIN ERRRRYBODY OUT HERE!!!!! but like, yeah, this guy nailed it. the best thing he did was shout out mcdonalds cuz like, if he's a true sensation he'll get a promotion and/or some sort of latent endorsement deal. but yeah, it's still funny to me to see another cool balck dude get his due cuz like, shit, the american black man is one of the most imitated people on the planet. i once wrote a paper for a history class that today's african american culture was borne from the slavery epoch cuz like, you know, it's the mindset that the parliament funkadelic crooned about when they said "you can dance on the water and not get wet" --- no matter how bad/shitty/etc life is.... i mean, you can chain us up and force us to be your slaves, sure, but you won't break our spirit.... we're still gonna produce that beautiful art that all of you are gonna copy cuz our spirit and sense of community is pure. and no doubt, the only reason this guy is a sensation is cuz most sheltered (in place!) white sub/urban people haven't gotten to know many black people, who come from a culture where communications is prioritized, and thusly streamlined and euphonic. |
